Stupid Book

The MGoBoard is full of douche bags.

Some idiot Bugeater fan started some stupid thread about the 1997 National Title and how the BigTen not having a title game was why NU 'won the BCS.'

After correcting him -- that there was no BCS, that NU had won the inaugural USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches Poll and that only the B12 even had a title game ...that my next door neighbor at the time, starting Colorado TE said Michigan was FAR better that year (having played both teams that year) and that generally speaking, the guy was simply WRONG and stupid, I got un-karma'd two points.

And the Carr hate/Dick Rod spin is so fucking old....

Well, well, well ... Three and Out on my front doorstep!

I will have to put it in my BRIEFCASE and get to work reading!

agree.

actually, when I've read their comments lately, I've noticed more dissenting opinions. it seems like their Fox News-Bill O'Reilly censorship techniques ("CUT HIS MIC!!!") have been tempered a bit.

Dissenting views from the "Carr was scum; We did not deserve RichRod" official orthodoxy are no longer deleted or smitten into oblivion outright.

I read the first half of the book today (I have Fridays off). I was surprised to see the author taking repeated shots at Boubucar Cissoko (sp?) for his play on the field. I really only remember the guy for his legal troubles. I had the impression that the author was putting an inordinate amount of blame for poor defensive showing on Cissoko.

Wish it wasn't the middle of the school year so I had time to read for pleasure... I'll say this though, as of two weeks ago I know Carr was pretty unhappy about the books release and was afraid that it was going to paint him in a negative light. From what Red said, it doesn't seem that it's done that, though it's apparent numerous people have taken it that way...

Further, does anyone remember when I said I knew for a fact that Carr was not directly involved in the coaching search and that Ferentz was never interviewed or offered the job, despite numerous reports? Can I get some validation here?

Finished the book at 4am last night (this morning). It does paint Carr in a negative light. It hints at, but does not prove, the idea that Carr was secretly undermining RR behind the scenes.

...and I think I do remember something about Carr not being involved and Ferentz not being interviewed.

I don't remember you saying that, but the book does sort of validate that.

apparently Carr was the first one from UM to call RichRod. I don't know if that counts being part of the coaching search though.

Ferentz was apparently never a serious candidate because of all the off-field issues his players were having.
