Stupid Lions supposedly want Gase

True, but wait until those contracts are up. I dont know how they're going to do it.

If I'm running an NFL team I don't think I would ever extend or re-sign a RB unless it is someone like AP so I use Yeldon until his contract is up then let him walk.

QB...you have to pay them if they are good.

Robinson...if he is elite they will probably have to pay him...RFA after 2017 season

Hurns...since he was an undrafted FA you might be able to get him to sign a decent deal now since he probably isn't making jack shit.

I still think Wilson is pretty good. Those early games, the OL was getting his ass kicked and he still did well. 4 years in and he's been great.

Not sure how he gets the overrated status put on him? Same as when some say Romo stinks.

99% of the backs are interchangeable once you get a solid oline. Id never pick one before the 4th. Our dumbasses have picked 3 in the last 5 years in the first 2 rounds lol. Traded up twice! Yes, mayhew....mayhew traded up for best and leshoure. Try saying it with a straight face. srsly lmao.

Here's what I want to know....

The GM hires the coach. We don't have a GM. So how did this reporter find out Gase was the favorite, and from whom did he obtain that information??

I consider this no more credible that the stories that the Lions were likely to trade Stafford. The person that will be asked to make those decisions hasn't been hired yet.

It's easy for anyone to throw out an opinions, and call it a "rumor"... but there is no reason for anyone to think this is actually fact.

Just a rumor. But I'm thinking someone already knows we're keeping White as our GM. Which would totally tick me off.

There's no possible way they can keep Sheldon White as GM. I think if they did, the franchise would be in dire straits.

I don't think it's a given that the GM hires the head coach. The owners ultimately make the decision, but their level of involvement varies from team to team.

Some of the quotes here suggest what I've said http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ryan-john-idzik-fired-new-york-jets/20977831/

We don't have much of an idea what type of owner Martha is just yet. I wouldn't be all that surprised if people in the organization are asking around.

It seems to me that by choosing a head coach before your GM you would be alienating some good candidates. I would assume there are some that wouldn't want a job unless they get to hand pick their HC

I won't argue that, that's probably true 99% of the time, but the owner signs the checks and I'm sure some of the more involved ones have a say.

Gase will likely be on anyone's list, so inquiring about him is to be expected regardless of who the GM is.

Mrs. Ford seems to really like Caldwell. So if HC comes before GM wonder why she doesn't keep Caldwell..

I don't know...the illusion of change? The fans won't be happy if Caldwell returns, but if they get rid of him and hire Gase and bill him as the next great savior of Stafford's career the lemmings will lap it up.

I know the owner can do pretty much what they want but hiring a head coach first, assuming it goes that way, probably ends badly. I'm also hoping this is the time we go 3-4. Just I think we had better personnel to go 3-4 last season, not so much now. But honesty, not sure we have the personnel for a 4-3.

I've been a fan for 27 years, since I was 5 years old. Keeping White might be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I don't know if I could openly root for them at that point.

I'm there with you. It would be an absolute insult to the fan base if White is the GM. What exactly was the point of the search? A bunch of BS to pretend like the team actually cares? He probably has already convinced Accorsi he's the guy and he got sucked into the Allen Park sewage.

If taking Ebron over the Michael Jordan of wideouts didn't do it nothing will. You are a lifer.

Slightly off topic but related to your post, I was down 30 points going into last night's playoff game in fantasy football, OBJ yawns and scores 31.5 points for me. He'd look so good in a lighter shade of blue...
