WRs not named CJ and RBs not named AP are volume picks in late rounds. Mayhew learned that just this year.

Get StartedDid LKP hack Grandy's account?
No
I still blame Mayhew for this bad picks, because there were warning signs before the draft
- Broyles was coming off torn ACL injury when drafted
- Best was coming off a bad concussion
- Titus had off the field problems in college
I only mentioned bad luck because of Broyles other knee, which couldn't have been expected
Look I want them to win tonight.. I know losing the division means we will get a new coach which would probably be better in the long run but I do want to win the division because it was given to us on a platter this year..
If losing the division is the only way to get a new coaching staff I hope they lose tonight!
This. Except with this organization there are no guarantees.
This team mirrors its coach's personality. And his personality is dickish.
We could finish 7-9 and there is still a strong possibility everyone is back. When you keep Millen 8 years everything is possible.
It really may be up to Mayhew. And if he deems the turnovers the players fault, then Schwartz and company could very well be back. Also depends on who actually is out there available and if Mayhew thinks someone is better than Schwartz and doesn't want to implode the team.
I actually wouldn't mind Lovie Smith with Linehan still the OC. But losing the Washburns could be bad.
Coaches get fired. Even ones where the players play bad. It's the name of the game. He's needs to be fired on just discipline alone. He does control that..
I want Schwartz gone just as bad as you do, but I think Gunther gone would do wonders, even with Schwartz still at the helm
This.
However, Schwartz would want to hire someone with a similar philosophy.
This team needs someone who isn't afraid to bring pressure.
Gunther was a blitz-happy D-Co coming into Detroit (in KC, prior to the Herm Edwards era).
I don't know what happened, maybe Schwartz is the one pulling the strings.

I get that the players are the ones underperforming, but turnovers and penalties are a strong indicator of lacking discipline.
This falls at the feet of leadership. That means Schwartz. Mayhew's job is to bring in talent that fits the philosophy of the team. Nationally this team is recognized as an extremely talented team which underperforms due to a lack of discipline. We consistently give away plays, drives, points, and games. I blame that on Schwartz. I don't hate Mayhew as much as some here (getting there though), but I don't think this team will ever win anything with the head coach we have right now.

I'd be fine with promoting Washburn actually. But an entire new staff would be my first option. starting with xanders gm, del rio hc.
