That could be. I know I made fun of Sparty a few months ago because they stole one our walk on LS by giving the kid a free ride. But like I said. In Hoke we trust because he and the staff have proven they know what they are doing.

You have to think there will be kids who can't adjust, change their mind at the 11th hour or have some other issue that allows some of the walk ons to gain scholarship at some point.

Please tell me this is not a scholarship. Because if it is, it's a fucking mistake. Teams have always found longsnappers within the team. It is not a hard job once you get the spin on the ball right.

Actually most teams have LS on scholarship. ND and OSU both have two right now.

Maybe they feel they need one and I did read that he was the #2 LS in the class and although it looks easy I would rather have a for sure guy doing it than trying to get by with a kid who isnt as good and may cause issues and turnovers.

An eventual scholarship, like as in their Senior year or some kind of grant scholly(this is a way to get around the max). I've played college football and I have never heard of going out specifically to look for a longsnapper.

So if Sua' Cravens decides to change his mind once he visits and there are no spots remaining, who do we boot? It better be the friggn longsnapper.

Did a little research and this is a rare occurrence. Teams have only recently started doing this(read an article on Rivals). As of now, 25 of the non academy 111 FBS schools have signed a long snapper out of high school or junior college to a scholarship. Michigan State actually signed our walk-on long snapper to a scholarship, which I think others have posted.

Cravens to SC, says he's "not the kind to de-commit" but wants to take his officials to UM and Ohio* still....? Okay.....

I was shocked to see Sparty as high as they are on ESPN. I am not that impressed with their list of commits

OhioPreps.com focused on Michigan's Ohio commitments stand out among their position rankings for the class of 2013:
