The Official OSU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

Upset of the decade? Thats a bit much.

#3 OSU looking for a BCS national championship bid. V S unranked Michigan team bound for a meaningless December bowl game... That's pretty big difference.

Even if they made the 2 pt attempt I still believe OSU has a decent shot at a fg with 30 seconds left. All of their scoring drives were long and between 5-8 plays. Chunk city against that d.

Well, there were a few times they rushed 3 that I didn't really like

and can't they stack the box and make Miller throw the ball? He isn't very good at that.

I wonder how much the Wilson injury and the "questionable" decision making of Josh Furman affected that.

You stack the box when your DL is standing up the OL, but can't break away from the block to make the tackle. By stacking the box, the DL occupy the OL, and the LBs make the tackle after a 1-2 yard gain.

Today, you had some OL manhandling the defenders, and it seemed that 2 OSU OL were able to get to the second level to block the LBs. When you have that situation, and you bring 1-2 extra guys on a run blitz, those OL who are getting to the second level are able to attack the run blitz, and now you're left with corners and safeties who have to abandon coverage to make a tackle against a 250 pound running back.

I wanted to see more slants to try to slow down the OL movement in the running game, but it was clear all day that OSU's interior OL was just too physical for UM's DL. It looked like the 2010 Wisconsin game where Wisconsin ran the same 2 running plays the entire second half and scored on every drive.

haha....thought the same thing. It's sad, but when UM scored with 30s left I thought it might have been too soon!

Nope. If we converted of that 2 pt conversion it would have been the final game score. ****...

I'd say Arizona's upset last week of Oregon would be a bigger upset.

What's more frustrating, sitting on the ball at the end of the first half or passing up the FG in the 3rd quarter?

I found sitting on the ball at the end of the half more frustrating. Disappointed with passing on the fg, but those are the calls that you make in the flow of the game. If they make the 1st down when they went for it on the 14, then Hoke and Borges are "geniuse and heros". Since they didn't are they "goats"? I don't think so. They made the decision they did. It is just the way it went. I can accept that.

I was really surprised (shocked) at how well the O played today. Where was this O since the ND game? If the O was playing like they did today all year, then I think all of the early close wins, and Neb and Iowa are big wins. Maybe even the game vs sparty is a win. The D got hammered by Hyde and Miller. Hyde is a great back. He drives forward after he makes contact. Not an easy guy to get down. I think we have backs coming up next year that will run like this, and hopefully DG will be better behind an improved O line. I am thinking that next year the O will be very much like the ohio* O this year, or even better.

Not saying I am happy with another loss to ohio*. A loss is a loss. So no, not happy. But for an unranked, struggling, Michigan to take the #3 team in the nation into the last seconds of the game, nothing to be ashamed of there. I can live with this loss.

When UM lost to OSU in 2001, 2005, 2006, and 2007, I thought UM had the players to win, should have won, and was pissed they didn't in. In my opinion, Tressel got his guys to play over their heads, and Carr's guys didn't play to their potentials.

**** 2008-10.

Now, in 2012 and 2013, OSU had the better players, the more experienced teams, and UM with the younger, more inexperienced teams played above their heads and gave us two exciting games they could have won.

If UM can go into the Shoe last year with a QB making his what, 4th start, and then this year with an overmatched team and have games they could if not should have won, what does it say about what might be coming when UM has the experienced OL and DL, and a 250 pound running back who's bowling over people?

The next time the game is in AA, UM and OSU will have QBs in their first seasons as starters, but UM's OL will have the advantage in experience and hopefully a big back who sets the tone.

Like rumsey said, Hyde is a great back and he killed us. While he was killing us I made for damn sure that every person in section 24 knew he was a scum bag woman beater. The Ohio sewer rats around me were not happy. His karma fumble gave us the shot we needed but the 2 point play call was awful.

That was the best game UM played all year. If the offense would have called plays like that all year it probably would have been a game between two undefeated teams today.

Plus this is more than just about the game today. This is about an entire season.

This.

The coaches do not get a pass by me for calling one great game and losing. No ****ing way. This season has been a disaster.

the 2 point play call was the season in a nutshell

the players were in position to win, the offensive playcalling sucked, so they lost.

yes bad play call but good call for 2

devin ankle was bothering him, mangunsun was limping all second half

they were running on us and I think we would be struggling in ot plus our FG kicker out

just wish we had gone more to the corner on a pass or create an option for DG to run

I just hope this game doesn't buy Borges another season. If you can look at the B1G standings and have the balls to keep your entire coaching staff, you're a delusional piece of shit.

Michigan finished behind Minnesota ffs. That's just...wow...

Bama has a tough game today and the SEC champ game still.

FSU has a rapist....he gets charged and OSU will get the nod for the NC game.

Still a lot of college football left. As a fan of big 10 football....I don't really want OSU to go to the NC game.....theyd get smoked imo.

told ya :D

if auburn wins that sec champ game they will will jump OSU.....that win will be viewed as a higher quality win than osu beating msu eventhough MSU will probably be ranked top 10 tomorrow.

holy crap I cant believe the end to that bama game lmao. Saban shouldn't have fought that hard for 1 sec to be put back on the clock.

Yep, behind PSU while PSU was fielding half a team, yet we can't possibly field a team that competes, because of Rich Rod...ok Brandon...good one.
