The Official Round 1 Draft Thread

But if we took at 23, for example, we'd get the pick in the 2nd round, 53 or maybe a sup.. No benefit imo.

That's why I was saying 2nd round. I would gamble a second round pick on a 1st round talent. We'd get a 3rd rounder next year (if the NFL comps us for his indictment) and probably a 3rd round comp pick for suh and another high one for Fairley. We'd be loaded with high picks.

They won't comp. gaines Adams died and bears got nothing

Agholor?????

Wow... too early. Not by much, but there are better WRs on the board.

Kelly is trying to get fired, that's all I can figure.

But, Gaines was already signed and had been playing.

Not signing a draft pick is different. I agree though, they aren't likely to comp.

I agree. But with that in mind.. would they award us a comp pick if our pick went to jail? Doubtful.
No you can't risk an early pick on the kid. 5th 6th sure but his stock should be ruined. If he's clean its a shame but there's to many question marks at this point. Because you have some information and know it's possible.

but he was signed. If a pick goes unsigned, you get a pick the next year to make up for it. Like Ink said, it has to be the player's decision not to sign, but I think if he was indicted before we signed him, we might get a pick.

Gotta give him credit, much like mcdaniels in Denver they are living and dying with their own method. Agholor would not have been my selection this early but he's an interesting prospect.

...to being disappointed for the second year in a row.

Don't think so bud. Too many options here not to be happy with the pick. They can go in about 8 different directions, or a trade down, and still be good.

More dying than living. Sooner or later, Chip is going to have to draft outside of the Pac-12. Only so many years you can make it knowing the players. They graduate sometimes.

My mock has always said Humphries. But my heart says Dupree.

Well, even if they wouldn't comp us, we lose a late second round pick this year. We'll still get at least 1 3rd round comp pick next year to help make up for it. I think the reward is much greater than the risk.
