The Official SMU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

I understand protecting qbs but that penalty on Hutchinson is honestly just ridiculous. Just one more embarrassing flag for this terrible crew.

We won by 25 but it just didn't feel awesome but hopefully we keep getting better.

He tackled him too hard. That was not nice. Penalty Michigan, for tackling too hard.

On the targeting called on Hudson, that was called by the replay official and could just as easily be called targeting against the offensive player (don't think that is ever called). Can that be appealed to the NCAA and ask them to overrule the suspension for next week? That was a bad call.

EH...

Not a perfect win, but good enough. And SMU has talent. Not saying they're a good team, but they have some talented guys. Porche was a missmatch for us, and accounted for 14 of their pts, and 1/4 of their yards by himself. and when you can bring in a backup QB who has a totally different skillset from your starter, and probably should have started himself, it's obviously going to cause a lot of problems for any defense. They prepared all week for one guy, and played the 2nd half against another.

I was happy to see our passing game come alive. I mean, we couldn't even get it going against shitty teams last year, so the fact that it even exists against SMU, let alone accounts for 21 pts, and 200+ yards is a positive versus last year.

quit bitching. go drink.

Just got home from the game (my boss gave away her two tickets for free lol). I hadn't been to a game in about 7 years I think. Took my dad just like the good ol' days when we went to every single game for about 10 years straight.

I didn't think I would have all that great a time, but I actually got pretty nostalgic and excited walking through the crowd and up to the stadium. So many good memories came flooding back. It was hot and the team didn't play so great, but I still had one of the best days I've had in a long time watching Michigan football. I have grown into one of those cynical "i'd rather watch the game at home" type people, but every once in a while it is just fun to go in person.

Thoughts on the game itself....short yardage running is a joke. We cannot be in 3rd and short situations and feel petrified that we won't make it. That's just not acceptable. I've never seen so many effing pass interference calls (some were legit, some weren't) in my life. This game did little to tell me that our weaknesses are improving (Oline play, defensive secondary getting burned on big plays).

On to Nebraska. Start Big Ten play off right.

They honored a Korean & Vietnam War veteran during the game. Listening to what he went through was insane and really humbled me. I don't even remember all the details I just know it was extremely moving.

Bless those men and women who serve.

Michigan's field hockey and softball teams were also honored during the game. Cool stuff

Watching this Osu game there is no way Michigan will win with the way both teams are and have played today. Both Osu and TCU came out fast and furious. Michigan slow and sluggish. Harbaugh to the NFL by 2020.

Penn state won big but mcsorley sucked again.
Wisky loses to byu
Michigan state offense blows
... it's early but seems like Ohio state runs away with it in a down year for the b1g

I can't believe I am saying this, but I hope it doesn't take that long. UM is gonna lose 4 or 5 games this year. Harbaugh will not beat Meyer, he struggles to win the big games and the little ones are becoming an issue. No reason for the performance of this team and the underwhelming abilities of the offensive line. Right now, he's on equal playing field with Brady Hoke, which isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

I couldn?t agree more. I told my sons today Michigan is 7-5 or 8-4 team.

Disagree with you . Smu is undersized and we we still struggled to get a push .. better hope Martinez does not play for Nebraska or he May torch us. Typical look ahead game for our guys coming up . 0-2 Nebraska coming and we think it will be easy . Man i hope we wake up... agree with you on the passing attack. Much better then last season . Hopfully I am wrong but O$u sadly looks light years ahead of us.
.. I hope your right .

I don?t know - the rest of the B1G - except for the hated Buckeyes - is blowing chunks too.

I think there?s a good chance that Michigan will go to the shoe the Saturday after Thanksgiving with a chance to Win the Big Ten east with the victory over the buckeyes.

Oh did I say buckeyes? Sorry I meant suckeyes.
