The Official SMU vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

EH...

Not a perfect win, but good enough. And SMU has talent. Not saying they're a good team, but they have some talented guys. Porche was a missmatch for us, and accounted for 14 of their pts, and 1/4 of their yards by himself. and when you can bring in a backup QB who has a totally different skillset from your starter, and probably should have started himself, it's obviously going to cause a lot of problems for any defense. They prepared all week for one guy, and played the 2nd half against another.

I was happy to see our passing game come alive. I mean, we couldn't even get it going against shitty teams last year, so the fact that it even exists against SMU, let alone accounts for 21 pts, and 200+ yards is a positive versus last year.

quit bitching. go drink.

Yep. I have to agree with MChamp here. It happens more than it used to. Yes, this was a very frustrating game. The refs called over 20 penalties. The targeting call on Khaleke was bs. Higdon is obviously the best RB and did not play. It was a very irritating 25 point win, but it was still a blow-out.

Can we call DPJ, just PJ?

How bad must Metellus's back up be?

Let's not get too down on the team or be scared of B1G play. Maryland got blown out by Temple. Nebraska got ran by Troy. UW lost. PSU and OSU look good. Let's not compare with Hoke. Harbaugh is still winning games that Hoke would've lost. Don't make me pull some stuff out from Hoke's last season

I know it was against WMU and SMU, but Shea is much better than anyone Michigan had at QB last year. He can make some plays.

I don?t know - the rest of the B1G - except for the hated Buckeyes - is blowing chunks too.

I think there?s a good chance that Michigan will go to the shoe the Saturday after Thanksgiving with a chance to Win the Big Ten east with the victory over the buckeyes.

Oh did I say buckeyes? Sorry I meant suckeyes.

Blackeyes

excerpt from Mgoblog:

(Patterson) finished the day 14-of-18 for 237 yards and a passer rating of 232.3.

Despite Karan Higdon’s absence (which Harbaugh said was a game-time decision), Michigan scored on its final six drives of the game, three of which ended with a touchdown pass from Patterson to Peoples-Jones.

Oh I forgot to mention. The commentating was horrible. Millen was better than usual, but yeah, i'll leave it at that.

I wonder what the high passer rating from last was?

Don't know, but it looked more like targeting on the offensive player than on Khaleke. The guy ran into Khaleke, not the other way around.

The refs on the field didn't call it, the QB didn't indicate in anyway that he felt he was targeted, the next play was already underway when they stopped play. Both players were moving, Hudson turned his body to try to avoid the helmet to helmet contact, the QB didn't. Should have been called on the QB. Is targeting ever called against a QB, receivers, or running backs? Don't think I have ever seen it called on any of these other players. NCAA doesn't care about defensive players. If this was targeting why wasn't it targeting on the kick return when West took a shot to the side of his helmet during the block? Oh wait, West was on defense.

Oh yeah and Akron beat Northwestern...

I guess the B1G isn't as great as we all thought it would be

OK, a ref in that thread thinks the ref in the game is telling Bush he needs to leave the field and fix his equipment because his knees are supposed to be covered.

But if that's the case, I don't see why he keeps letting Bush play after that.

Players are supposed to move refs, not the other way around. This is disgusting and needs to be brought before the proper assholes who will investigate this asshole's misconduct.
