The Official "The Ga][V][e" Ga][V][e Thread

If that was the case, it sucks that fear of a bunch of morons kept the officials from doing the right thing.

Fuck every aspect of this damn game. Maybe except the defense; they mostly did their job and were probably exhausted by the end trying to keep the offense in the game.

I am pretty embarrassed to be a michigan fan today. Not for the game but from all the whining I hear from the fan base. For one the spot was correct, if you want to cry about a call start with that no call on 3rd down for pass interference. Michigan dominated the first 3 quarters and thanks to 3 turnovers it went from blow out to close game. In the 4th quarter the offense mailed it in. Disgusted that all I will hear about this game is how "refs screwed michigan" rather than how they choked the game away in reality. 2nd half, where was Butt? Ignored his mismatch after the 1st half. Where was Chesson? Seemed like only time they haf him on the field was to run jet sweeps. Also not one time in the entire game did they even attempt a deep shot

Was I the only one who saw the official pat Weber's ass in regulation?

It was early in the game and I am too lazy to look back....

I saw an official pat an OSU player on the ass. I don't know who it was, but yeah I noticed that.

And Kenny Allen

That spot would have been right on the 15 yard marker based on the referees errant call.

So the chains would have simply confirmed a call that was incorrect in the first place.

Although it would have been normal procedure...but anyway...

I think Deputy Sheriff Lost Leader had a point...with those wack jobs down in Columbus, there could have been a public safety issue if the call had been reversed...
It's officer now that I moved to Indiana. Wouldn't mind Trooper lostleader but I'm not going through another academy.

However once my local S.O. opens up a spot I'm gonna apply for a deputy spot, but it'll be a bit.

That's fine be embarrassed. I'll wear my UM gear today as proudly as I did yesterday and the days before.

All they are doing is pissing off Harbaugh and it's gonna bite them.

And for the record the spot was wrong. Harbaugh knows it, urbie knows it, and so does the ref. Mistakes happen, it's part of life, look at the ump that took away the perfect game a few years back. Personal feelings get mixed up at times and you get lost in the excitement of the game. I've umped before and it can't suck, especially when on side is always up your ass, wouldn't kill Harbaugh to be nicer to help those calls go their way. But alas its over, on to the bowl game, wherever it may be.

We all know it was a bad spot. There is no doubt that it was. I don't blame the replay official for it. If they would have overturned that spot, that place would have made a riot look like a picnic.

It should have been called right from the start, I am sure more than 1 ref had a look. Home cooking IMO.

Kind of agree on the bad spot after seeing this. Should have actually been spotted even further than they did.

the best angle to view it would be from the sideline looking across the field, or as close to that as they couldve gotten. they kept showing the overhead angle though on TV, which made it hard to see where the ball was. same with that shot. looks like he made it, but his body is covering the ball so you can't see where it is.

honestly the two PI no-calls on third downs for us were worse. I knew there was no way they'd overturn a critical ball spot like that on replay late in the game. but blown PI, especially when they called a ticky tack one on us was worse.

we were the better team for most of the day I thought, actually for 3 1/2 quarters. but we fucking left points on the field and didn't score. we got away with that against Wisconsin, but couldn't against OSU.

I was far more upset about about the PIs, during the game. The spot was an after thought. Like swami was saying up above, the mailing it in in the 4th was more upsetting than all the non-calls. The playcalling was so NOT how our offense has operated this whole year. The coaches abandoned everything that got us to this point(our current record and lead in the 3rd quarter) and kept using plays(stupid wildcat) that failed over and over again. We did the same things against MSU with not using our superior speed. Teams all year have gotten the edge against OSU and we rarely challenged them there and I cant understand how the playbook shrinks( playing not to lose/scared) from one opponent to the next. The refs should have never been a concern. They were made to be a concern when the coaches tightened their anuses in the 4th. When it was 17-7 it felt we would a couple more times the way we were moving the ball.

My therapist was right. It does help to talk about it.

That pic is photoshopped. The 15 yard line is completely vertical, but the hash marks are at an angle? Nice try, bud.

I don't know that it's photo shopped or not but this pic clearly shows the ball was nowhere the line.

The legs and the butt of the big blocker, #88 Anderson, are nowhere near up to the line in this shot, and in the angles from which we saw the ball-we don't see the ball in this photo at all-it was clear that the ball got stopped behind that big butt, and then Barrett fell backward.

The loss for Michigan was due to a combination of poor offense in the 4th qtr and the refs making atrocious calls and missed calls that favored OSU. The Michigan offense wasn't playing badly in the OT. If the PI isn't called on the pass that sailed over the OSU receivers head in the 4th qtr, then more than likely OSU would not have been able to tie the game. If the PI had been called on the pass in the 2nd OT, then Michigan would have likely scored a TD, and the game might still be going on. It was clear that something wasn't right when they didn't call the PI in the first qtr when Darboh was basically thrown to the ground. If the ball had been spotted correctly, then the game would have been over. Nothing is going to change these things now, but it is frustrating when the refs are calling such a biased game.

If you're going to use that picture, use the whole thing so you can see that it clearly isn't from above. Pretty extreme angle but I'm not surprised at all that you think it was a first down. I'm glad you finally have something to be happy about this football season.

Rarely do you deserve to win when your kicker was the best player on the field. The 2nd half was embarrassing. None of you gave us a chance in ot when you read the thread. That 4th down call just gave us something different to bitch about.
