Jason Foley: $3.15M
Matt Vierling: $3.005M
Jake Rogers: $2.64M
Casey Mize: $2.34M
Zach McKinstry: $1.65M
Will Vest: $1.4M
Andy Ibáñez: $1.4M
Beau Brieske: $1.025M.
Total: $26.76 million.

For the first time in many, many years, the Detroit Tigers are pursuing high-profile free agents again. They did say once they reached a certain level of performance, they would be looking to add the necessary pieces that would help them reach the next level.
But this isn’t the only aspect of the Hot Stove season that is different from previous years. The Tigers have a distinct new strategy in their negotiations.
Here are the top 5 things they are doing very, very differently….
 
I am not a fan of Bregman. He could be the next Javier Baez. He won a GG, but his fielding stats aren't really that good. Santander could be viable at the right price. As a switch-hitter, he does well from both sides. And yes, Flaherty is an injury waiting to happen.

A blast from the past...I haven't seen you post here in a long time!
 
Any 30+ guys there are going to be difficulties. None of them are perfect. But you're not going to be able to sign 26 year old prime players. So what's the solution? Get no one, fans hate that. Sign 1 year deals of really older players, fans hate that. 30+ on a longer deal, fans hate that.

No one ever seems to be happy. But if its status quo, Tigers FO gets drilled on that. And remember this is the Detroit Tigers, the FA list is going to be much smaller than teams like NY and LA.

I agree. Harris doesn't have an easy job. But it's his job to figure it out.

And then we judge after the season. Its pretty much all you can do. I'm sure people didn't want Flaherty or Lorenzo and maybe there was 1 or 2 people that liked the Maeda signing. Maybe, lol.
