Tigers verses M's April 26th

Take a look at last years splits when he batted in front of Cabrera vs when he didn't. Hit .100 pts higher.

Some points:

1. He hit .290 in the last 42 games hitting #3, which is within range of his season average of .284

By Month

April 9-21 .429 (5 games)
May 12-65 .185 (17 games)
June 37-88 .420 (21 games)
July 5-8 .625 (2 games)
August 0-4 .000 (1 game)

What happened in May with Cabrera hitting behind him?

2. His 2nd most PAs came hitting #2, with most of them coming in late June, July and August. He batted .211 as a #2 and .219 in the 2nd half. So the question, is it the batting order or the 2nd half swoon? Or was it because Delmon Young was hitting behind him?

3. In 2010, he hit the best in the #5 slot. Which was typically after Cabrera and in front of Inge, Guillen or Peralta. Does that mean that they offered him "protection"?
