Tigers vs. Angels game thread 8/26

First pitch swinging.

I am ok with unless it is a marginal player like Baker or another scrub.... And i have been consistent in saying Prince and MC are exception to the rule.. In a situation when a wild pitch can score a run and your Jeff Baker or Ryan Raburn or Santiago or others you should try and do anything you can to score the run... Because they are not going to hit homers...or anything else for that matte most at bats..

It was Delmon.

Also, Avila did it last night, and drove in 2 runs.

People only bitch about it when it results in an out, which is the main reason it's stupid to complain about it.

I would never criticize Miggy or Prince for doing it. And really 1st swinging only ever bothers me when you just watched the guy in front of draw a 4 pitch walk and then you come to the plate and swing. Peralta did that the other day...Prince walked on 4 pitches and then he swung at a pitch on his shoe tops and missed it. But if the pitch is a strike and the guy swings at it, then I don't care.

Max Scherzers line: 7.0 IP [120 pitches 83 for strikes], 4 Hits, 1 Run [earned], 2 Walks and 9 Strikeouts.

Max looked like he was going to struggle early on today but blue eyed Max got the job done. Very nice work.

Max Scherzer has the potential to be a Cy Young candidate some year. He is scary good and he's gotten a lot stronger and his velocity shows it. He just has to do it for a whole season. He has a 2.25 ERA this month with 42 Ks in 32 innings and should improve to 4-0 after this one.

He's a young guy with top of the rotation stuff.

I can agree with that... If a pitcher is struggling... Might as well see if he can throw a wild one..

Trout has certainly come back to earth this series, OPS down to a human .986 average to .337. If Cabrera would have a healthy and hot series he would have narrowed the gap considerably.

TBS announcers just described the tigers signing prince as a 'huge risk'? how the fuck so?

There is an insurance run.

Berry finally manages to get a sac hit into the OF.

On a day where Miggy sits, the 3, 4 & 5 hitters have gone 6-11 with 4 rbi's (2 hits a piece and at least 1 rbi for each). Gotta love that.
