Get StartedJim Price inferred the Angels were stealing signs somehow, because of the 4 first pitch swings and XBH's.
Dunno if he's right or not, but if you know it's coming anyone can hit the fastball even if it's 99 or 100.
It's so he can go further in games. Not many other pitchers can then throw 100 at 120+ pitches in. The problem is when you miss with your location like the Trout HR, hitters aren't going to miss it whereas you may be able to sneak it by them if it's 97.
So what happened to Below? Did I miss something? Is he on the DL?
He's not on the roster, and has not been for a month or more, so yeah, you must have missed something.
But they can hit the 90mph one much easier than the 100mph. The closer With the Reds doesn't fool anyone most of the time, but almost no one can hit him. I would guess that jv's fast balls are flattening out a bit.
I know he's not on the roster, but why?
I think it's all about arm motion and how well batters do or do not pick up the ball coming out of a pitchers hands, take villarreal for example he throws 96-99 and people are constantly late on him? Difference I suggest is hiding of the ball better during delivery and or deceptive arm motion.
