Alex Avila, 3-for-41 while hobbling on bad knee last postseason, gives Tigers 3-1 lead on HR leading off bottom 5th,
The home run by Avila now matches his RBI total for each of the two series he hobbled through last year.

Is anyone listening to ESPN radio? Some idiot calling the game keeps referring to AA as OV-ula.

that;s actually how Al Avila Sr. pronounces it, in the Cuban style with a soft a.

Tigers batting 5th inning,

Avila fastball fly deep to left and it's Gone for a homerun,

Tigers lead 3 - 1,

Infante first pitch grounder to third,

Jackson takes a strike, slider bounces into the lefty batters box, slider low, fastball in the dirt, flare down the rf line and fkface reddick dives and gets it,

Berry 2 and 2, swings and misses a fastball with the long swing,

parker with 72 pitches,

Tigers lead 3 - 1.

Verlander pitching 6th inning,

moss changeup strike call, curve fouled to left, slider at the back foot, swings and misses a changeup, woof,

FF reddick swings and misses, fouls back a 98, buzzes him inside, letter high changeup fouled back, now this dick is just trying to foul them off, ground foul, called strike three on the corner FU and sit down,

100 pitches for JV,

donaldson check swing strike in the dirt, chases outside tapped foul, called strike three inside corner, and another a's batter with a temper tantrum GFY,

Verlander with 105 pitches,

Tigers lead 3 - 1.

all we're going to hear all series now is how the Umps screwed the A's.

Verlander strikes out the side in the sixth, sitting on nine strikeouts (postseason high is 11). He's got 105 pitches.

Verlander now has two career playoff starts w/ 9+ Strikeouts -- matches Hal Newhouser for most by Tigers pitcher in club post-season history.

JV was on fire that inning. just miss from miggy and fielder rips one right to a body :/

Tigers batting 6th inning,

cabrera takes fastball low, again, fouled back, fly to right,

Fielder line drive right to drew at short didn't move,

Young takes outside, fastball low outside, strike low, slider swings and misses, swings and misses,

F fast inning,

parker with 82 pitches,

Tigers lead 3 - 1.

I get that Miggy and Prince are hardly "in shape" but they are big guys...Delmon has to have put on 15-20 lbs of FAT since he was drafted.
