Tigers vs. a's ALDS Game Thread 1 Oct. 6

is there a knowledgeable baseball announcer strike, these guys suck.

Gotta pull JV and have him ready in case we need him for game 5.

I can't seriously believe people want him to go 140-150 pitches.

its not that i want JV to go 140+....i just dont want to see benoit and valverde fuck up this start.

Alex picked a really good time to start hitting this year.

he has to be closing in on his entire total for all of last year's postseason...dude was injured and horrible.

edit: He has equaled last years total.

The two hits for Avila in today's game match his career playoff high ... FOR A SERIES.

will smoker let him pitch game 5 ? if not then why not!

Why wouldn't he. That don't use your best guy in an elimination game because he'll be unavailable for game 1 next series is dumb.

If there is a game 5, Verlander will start it.

not using your horse in games 1,4,7 is also damn stupid in a 7 games series.

Tigers hitting 7th inning, and 43,323 at CoPa,

Dirks takes changeup low, changeup high, fastball low, strike call, sliced down left foul, again, line drive single to left,

pat neshek warming up with a heavy heart,

Peralta swings and misses fastball low, can't lay off the 2 seam low and grounds it foul, some throws to first, ground foul down third, yawn throw to first, chases a fastball high,

Avila takes a changeup outside but called a strike, swings and misses a changeup, line drive to left for a single, first and second,

here comes melvin to take the kid out,

Infante strike call, fouls it back, low outside, off speed away, grounder to short runs and steps on second and throws to first and Omar beats it out, Dirks to third,

Jackson strike call, check swing off the corner strike, swings and misses,

Tigers lead 3 - 1.

Anxiety attack time with BenwaBallsBenoit and OCD Valverde for the 8th and 9th.

The 11 strikeouts by Justin Verlander tonight mark just the fourth 11-K performance in franchise playoff history. #Tigers
