Tigers vs. a's ALDS Game Thread 2 Oct. 7

Give Worth credit also.. JP never gets that guy out at second base on that ball in the hole also..

I take it after today nobody will again question why Kelly over Boesch on the playoff roster.

I didn't question it anyway.

makes sense he can play more positions than everyone else on the team and boesch has been a mess.

for me the call was between worth and boesch but worth proved them right with his glove.

both good decisions in hindsight.

And finally with the bases loaded and less then one out we come through!!!!!

Kelly hits the 9th walk-off sacrifice fly in MLB postseason history (Hideki Matsui in 2004 was only other hitter to do so in LDS).

Fifth walk-off win in Tigers postseason history, and first since Magglio.?

Leyland presser....Leyland was pressed by Drew Sharp about Benoit and Leyland said he has complete faith in him, etc. What else is he going to say though? But in all honesty, you will continue to see Benoit in the 8th inning in big spots (that part is me talking). Also said the unsung play was the play by Worth.

reddick doesn't like that Al Al kissed the ball when he threw the ball to prince, what a f'n whiny bitch, what about all the shit antics he and his team mates do?
reddick bitching like a high maintenance f'n broad.

And no one likes his hair...so we're even.

What's the difference between kissing the ball and pointing up at the sky if you get a hit to thank god....cause that's all he was doing....thanking god he got a comebacker and an easy out.

Oakland is now whining about the umps calling pitches outside strikes. they are right, but what they don't seem to realize or understand is that our hitters have had em called the same way! buncha whiny bitches.

I don't understand how a team who struck out the most during the year can complain about striking out. That's what you do. And yes, the strike zone has been called the same way for both teams.

the big reason is that Fisters' pitches had that tailback action and Laird was just holding his mitt right there and the ball was tailing back with the late movement as it passed the a's batters, and hitting his mitt as a strike.
where you could see their catcher(s) were pulling the glove in on pitches to get the strike calls.

Balls that were getting caught for 2/3 of the season are now falling in...the millimeters that were screwing us in the past are finally going our way at the right time. Dirks' bunt would have trickled foul in May...

Reddick is just mad cuz the magic is over for the money ball boys

Moneyball was supposed to be a cheap way for assembling a team that can compile a high OBP. The A's OBP this season is 12 in the AL.
