Tigers vs. a's ALDS Game Thread 3 Oct. 9

I don't mind Garcia. I like his defense, he has speed and the rest of the team sucked as well.

The Tigers are up 2-1. Today is another day. I am not distressed.

3 RBI's in 3 games? I'm worried. We are god damned fortunate to be up 2-1.

No we're not. Its not like the A's offense are the '27 Yankees.

I call bullshit. If I told you before the series that we'd have 3 RBI's TOTAL after 3 games, you'd be thankful to just be at 1-2 and not be swept.

You don't need to be the '27 Yankees to average more than 1 run a game. The A's have choked several times and that is the only reason they're up 2-1. Most championship runs require a good break and some luck but it can't carry you the whole way.

I agree. I think if the Tigers lose today they are in HUGE trouble.

The Tigers have scored 8 runs. 3 RBIs, 2 other times they had scored with ground outs with 2 runners on and once from a wild pitch after getting runners to 2nd and 3rd.

DET 8 R 22 H 4 D 0 T 1 HR 5 BB 2 HBP (29 times on base)

OAK 9 R 18 H 1 D 0 T 3 HR 10 BB 2 HBP (30 times on base)

Pretty even of you ask me.

The biggest difference to me is the 3 to 1 HR advantage and 10 walks vs. 5

Those ground outs you're referring to only produced runs because of wild throws. It's not like they were fielder's choice. They wouldn't have been runs otherwise.

One was a doubleplay grounder by Miguel Cabrera. No RBIs are given on GIDP. Runners were on 1st and 3rd and no out.

Second was a ground out to 1B by D. Young with runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out. The dribbler by Delmon Young was too slow to be a double play.

In neither instances were there ANY wild throws!

I'll give you that high quality at bat by Cabby, forgot about that one. Glad he came through. :ugh:

D. Young was awarded an RBI for that play, it's one of the 3.

*edit for splam*

You're right. Either way. It is about scoring runs. So what that there wasn't an RBI. If they win the series, it won't matter going into the next round. If they lose, then we already know that their offense is lacking.
