Face it we just have to hit... if we score 4+ runs tonight I like our chances.. 3 is a maybe, and 1 or 2 we have to hope Justin throws a no-no... Very frustrating Miguel has no RBI"s on the series.. I know we can't have one player just carry us but he needs to step up tonight..

Lets hope our offense shows up in the 1st few innings of the game and puts up some serious runs so we can pull JV and throw in Porcello to finish up.

I guess one can only hope lol.

I'll be hoping that the offense scores some runs in the late innings. That seems to be a chore for this team lately.

You are talking out of both sides of your mouth. On one hand you say the offense is fucking terrible (which is true) but you complain when they bunt to try and score a run. When you have a terrible line up you have to manufacture runs.

To me it really depends on the situation. Are we early in the game? Who is coming up? Is he a .300 hitter? If its me, you don't have a .300 hitter bunt unless its late in the game and one run is all you need.

I have read a lot of complaints, all which have a level of validity, but the blame for that loss is squarely on Valverde.

People can bitch about Leyland, or the offense, or the defense as much as they want, but in the end this is the playoffs and you have to be able to protect a 2 run lead with 3 outs to go.

There is simply no excuse for Valverde, he has 1 fucking job around here, and that's to close out ball games, and the biggest close of the year and he lets them tie it before even recording an out is inexcusable.

If we win today and Valverde closes it out, and he does that stupid dance afterwards...I hope Delmon hits him with a bat.

bunting does nothing but give away outs with an offense that struggles regardless. the fact that one of them worked out (the other was inconsequential and might have even cost runs) doesnt mean its not stupid. we should only ever bunt if our pitchers are hitting.

Well, we might want to bunt if JP or DY could lay one down, but I doubt their ability to do that correctly.

How 'bout having a hitting coach that tells his batters that they don't have to swing at anything even remotely close to the strike zone unless its a 2 strike count?

How 'bout having a pitching coach that tells his pitchers to waste a pitch if its 0-2, 1-2, or maybe even 2-2? No, let's throw a fastball right down the middle with a 1-2 count.

The BP does need some attention...to me they are the most underachieving part of the team. Aside from Peralta I can't say I'm surprised with the level of suckage of some of the hitters.

I can't say the same for the pen...Coke, benoi, and valverde have all performed below their usual.
