Tigers - a's Game Preview.
from blessyouboystigersblog

The past two days, the Detroit Tigers have cooled off the hottest team in baseball. This afternoon, they will try to sweep it.
Anibal Sanchez (3-5, 4.19 ERA with the Tigers) will be on the mound for the Tigers today as they try to win the final game of a three-game series against the Oakland A's, who are 22-9 in their past 31 games even after dropping the first two games of the series against the Tigers.
Sanchez has never faced the A's and has squared off with just a handful of their hitters. Left fielder Seth Smith is 5-for-11 with a home run in his career against Sanchez.
Left-hander Tommy Milone (13-10, 3.81 ERA) will start for the A's. Milone allowed two runs -- one earned -- in seven innings in his only career start against the Tigers. He allowed five hits, walked one and struck out six May 11 in an 11-4 victory over the Tigers in Oakland.
With a left-hander on the mound for the A's, Avisail Garcia will start in right field for the second consecutive day. Gerald Laird will catch in place of Alex Avila.
The Tigers pulled within two games of the division-leading Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night and will try to close the gap further today.
Tigers fans won't have to watch the out-of-town scoreboard during the game this afternoon. The Tigers and A's play at 1:05 p.m. The White Sox play the Kansas City Royals at 8:10 p.m.

Leyland said he'd not use Benoit today, like to stay away from Coke, Villarreal as well as Smyly for obvious reasons.
Leyland said Avila's headaches are gone. Said Scherzer's not doing anything for a couple days, so they won't know anymore for a while.

and I have to go take a huge Murray and wipe my ugg boots.

Glad to see Boesch not in the starting line up. I don't know where to find it but it seems like we win more with him out of the starting line up. I may be completely wrong but it seems that way.

With peralta hitting so poorly the last 2 months, I'm surprised we don't see more of Santiago to get the best defensive team out there. Would have helped JV last night.

I'm not sold that either Dirks or Garcia are everyday players yet, but I like that this is by far the best defensive outfield we can put togehter.

Boesch sits because it's a lefty. We'll see him again soon.

A's purposely loading the bases for Delmon with 1 out? They probably like their chances.

bases loaded, delmon at the plate...i am not inspired.

and look, i was right! fuck you delmon. i cant wait until your ass is kicked to the curb.

Die in a fire Delmon, you useless fat fucking piece of shit.

Worst AB of the year right there.

i dunno, it cant be THE worst...im pretty sure hes had a few other bases-loaded, first pitch double plays this year so its gotta be at least tied with those.

but yes, it would be nice if he died in a fire.

But consider the situation Spock, we have to win now. Delmon was stupid other times this year, but never when so much was on the line.

I don't want any of the Tiger's players injured, but I wouldn't mind someone telling him nicely that the pitcher had just walked the previous two batters and the at bat was totally in his control when he decided to swing at ball 1.

Delmon has been TERRIBLE most of this month. since the end of that hot streak (which i counted as ending when he got his last HR against the shitsox on sept 2nd) he has hit .226/.250/.264/.514 and yet is still hitting 5th because leyland is fucking retarded.

FUCK YOU LEYLAND I FUCKING HATE SACRIFICE BUNTS PLEASE DIE IN A FIRE YOU OLD FUCK.

whew. had to get that out of my system.

Ajax says, "Hey shithead, that's how you hit a sac fly with a man on 3rd."

Delmon looks away.
