Tigers vs. giants 2012 World Series Game Thread 3 Oct. 27

Frustrating to say the least... Shutout twice in the regular series in 162 games.. Now back to back and the first time since 1919 that has happened....

Gotta throw JV tomorrow...then Max, Fister, and JV again in 7. I would be hopeful with that line up. don't give a damn what Leyland says.

i hope we get swept. we deserve it. if we had any offensive competence, wed be up 2-1.

That's the National League. The last time it happened in a WS was 1966. Orioles did it to the Dodgers.

Tigers: 1st team to be shut out with 5 hits or fewer in back-to-back WorldSeries games, in a single series, since 1921 Giants.

Tigers: lost 6 straight World Series game (tied for longest streak in AL history).
barf.

Like someone mentioned earlier, when the only consistent offensive contributors in the playoffs leading up to the World Series are Delmon Young and Jhonny Peralta, we should have known it was going to get ugly soon.

Good thing Boesch and Raburn were left off the roster so we reduced the number of AB's chasing shit down and out of the zone away. Oh, wait...

I'm going to g out on a limb. But I think Tigers need some bats next season!

I think they need some hitters with more intelligence, discipline, and conviction who are going to set the tone for the rest of the team. The Tigers seem to just rely on talent, and that doesn't get you there. It is interesting that when Leyland had a press conference yesterday, he mentioned that the Tigers didn't have practice yesterday. Yet I saw a bunch of Giants out there working out behind the shows on MLB channel.

They unquestionably had the starting pitching to win it all, damn crying shame couldn't put together a lineup that can be disciplined and smart at the plate consistently enough to seal it.

But hey we can watch both the Lions and the Tigers lose tomorrow! a double-dip yea!!

Yup some darn grinders.....I agree with you totally..

Well as I mentioned earlier at least we have 1 decent upgrade to our offense set for next season getting VMart back to hit in the 5 hole.

Little things are magnified. Jackson backing off two balls he should have dove for. Fielder, Berry and Avila trying to pull outside fastballs and weakly grounding out. Berry striking out in front of Cabrera when he should have walked. THAT was the key moment in the game and the series.

Only three teams have won game four after being down 3-0.
