i DONT like young. all he has going for him is a ~.270 avg and ~10-20 homers. he's horrible in the OF, cant get on base, and is slow as molasses. we need to non-tender him in the offseason and get a more well-rounded outfielder, like david dejesus.

Agree on Young. I hope they don't buy on his late season surge as his true value. He's a mediocre hitter with no plate discipline who cannot hit right handers well and he might be the worst fielder in the majors. He's a non tender candidate if there ever was one.

De Jesus is garbage. We already have one of those his name is Dirks. Young is the best that we are going to get. He is a bargain at 6 million. At worst you will have a 270 hitter with 15 home runs. But, I think that he has the talent to explode and hit 30 home runs and drive in 120. He is only 25 years old. He sucks in the outfield, but so what. Good hitters don't grow on trees

Yeah looking over what his possible arbitration number could figure out to be it could be around 7 to 7.5 million. I think in all fairness I believe we could spend that money on more significant area's to improve not only the lineup but defense as well. We have so many area's we really need to improve on its going to be a very interesting offseason to say the least.

Well I wouldn't advocate signing Dejesus, though, in fairness Dejesus really does provide only slightly inferior offense while managing to not completely and utterly suck in the field.

I would say that for 6 million, you could probably sign a corner guy who would be better than Young.

I think not. We got Mags at the home field discount of $10 million last year. I would rather go Dirks and Bosch than waste money on a mediocre journeyman
