Most times it's the best pitch to hit.

I was think he would chase an offspeed low, take a pitch, see what it looks like, maybe someone other than Boesch,Young, lesser degree Peralta, swinging first pitch doesn't rankle me.

Because you never know when you may get a pass ball or wild pitch.. Make the other guy work for it... Especially if your a obp guy of under .300... Nothing wrong with taking a pitch or two...
