Tigers vs. reds Game Thread June 8

This loss is on Leyland. 5-4 game in the 8th how do you bring in a rookie pitcher who has never pitched a game? Just incredible.

taking Below out when he did, knowing Benoit wasn't available, and God knows what's up with Dotel the past 6 days,
no matter what, this teams overall defense is probably going to keep them from sustaining any win streaks of significance,
4/5 out innings at least 2 a game, Pitchers throwing more per inning on top of the high pitch count per innings compared to most all that are considered playoff teams.
free swinging putz's get lucky and run into one, then go back to hacking,
sorry, not too positive about this assembled team.

I mean a win today would be two in a row climbing to 5 back with Verlander tommorow. Huge boost for the whole team. Now we are just going to repeat 2008 all over again. I usually defend Leyland but this was the stupidest piece of managing I think I will ever see.

I just watched the replay twice, not a great bunt.

He bunted it too hard which allowed there to be a play period, Fielders flip was not great, but I don't think he had time to make a better throw.

Bottom line is we should have pitched out or thrown up and in high enough that he would miss or pop it up.
The defender made as good of a play as you could expect and the run scored = GOOD BUNT!!!! Not rocket science

Coke or someone. A minor leaguer is just completely ridiculous in a game this important.

2 in a row... What Us... Not this year...it is pathetic...I am so pissed they came back to take the lead with Rally killers bomb only to have dumbo throw in a rookie in the 8th inning..

Yeah, whatever.

He was a hair from getting thrown out. The batter deadens that ball a bit and nobody gets to it in time to even make a throw.

It worked, but it was not a great bunt for the safety squeeze, it was too hard/fast.

But we aren't going to agree, so yeah, whatever.

Watching the White Sox lose at home to the Blue Jays and Astros makes it sting even worse. This team should have essentially clinched a playoff spot by now.

Leyland treated this as a spring training game... I can't tell you how important this was. The longer we stay buried the more it will sink into our team.

10 bucks says he starts it with "weeeeeeeellllllllll"

Go ahead and post it... I can't fucking watch that clown...

"well it was a good ballgame and we had our chances"

Jim what about throwing in a rookie in the 8th

'well You know I have to see him in a tough spot to get a good read on him since i don't use video" Kid throws hard....

Who thinks Leyland makes it through the end of June or to the All-Star break.

You know there is a problem when I am this hot over it. I have usually defended Leyland. I don't want him to finish the season. Let Cabrera manage at this point screw it.

Completely agree, it's as if it's more important to him to give people opportunities than it is winning. He needs to be fired.
