Tigers vs. redsox Game Thread May 29

Idiots, bro.

Didn't Verlander dominate the Red Sox at the beginning of the year? Yeah, that's what i thought.

He had a sub 3 ERA against teams with a WP over .500 last year.

Anybody who doubts Verlander, as anything less than a top 3 pitcher in all of baseball, against any lineup, against any team, is a complete fucking moron.

I cannot believe Chica came out for Verlander's worst start of the year, giving up 5 runs (1 of which is on the defense) to the Sox, but still went 6 innings. He's the best pitcher in baseball, not top 3, not top 5, but top 1, the best.

I got to hand it to her, it takes some guts to put yourself out there to be ridiculed for being a total fucking idiot. Anyone who doesn't think Verlander is the best pitcher in all of baseball doesn't know much about baseball, anyone who thinks he isn't top 3 is a total fucking idiot. Verlander will be right there for the Cy Young this year again if not he'll win it. If he simply maintains for the next 4 or 5 years and then has decent longevity, Justin Verlander is a HOFer.

It's what Chico does. He goes against the grain, he does it on purpose to rile guys up. He's even admitted it in the past.

The definition of a troll.

I have yet to see one post from him that wasn't intended to start an argument.

Verlander:

1) Average against teams that are better than .500
2) Horrible in Post season
3) Night game stats = average
4) When he team scores less than 2 runs = almost guaranteed loss
5) April & March = sucks

He can have his ACE tag but there is a reason I waited a whole season to allow all you folks to have it.

but you take away playing Pitts, KC and Baltimore, three of the worst teams in the history of Verlanders playing days, and his stats are FAR WORSE.

1) What was Bob Gibson's record vs above .500 teams as opposed to below .500 teams?
What about Jim Palmer or Bob Feller?

2) Verlander is 3-3 in the post season, with an ERA significantly higher than one would expect from him. The Tigers are 3-2 in in post season series in the Verlander era, and the Tigers wouldn't have gotten to the postseason in either season without him. So disappointing, sure, but horrible is just silly.

3) 24-5 and leading the league in ERA and strikeouts while being average in night games? - sorry - too many night games for that to compute.

4) Less than two runs is either one run or zero runs; yeah, it's pretty much a guaranteed loss if your team scores zero runs, and not much better odds if your team scores only one run - brilliant observation - uncanny, even.

5) He's off to a good start this April and March (March usually comes before April, by the way).
Verlander has a better fastball in the 9th than he has in the first. Maybe he's a better finisher of the season than a starter, over the years lots of great players have been like that.

And you don't go 24-5 and lead the league in strikeouts and ERA and win the Cy Young and MVP pitching the entire season against only three of the worst teams in baseball history.
