That's a shocking stat....we have the longest streak in the majors without being shut out 117 games. Next closest is the Orioles at 78 games.

Laird needs to do all the catching for awhile Alex's bat just isn't there this year.

BB needs to start going after the first pitch all the time again, its the only way he doesn't always completely suck at the plate.

For the seasons his wRC+ is 99.

He's been a league average hitter, which means he's been an above average hitter for a catcher.

Alex just doesn't look right at the plate, can't put my finger on it but it pisses me off that we don't seem to have a hitting coach who can figure out what guys aren't doing right much much quicker than he seems to. JMO

msjb and TM, it wouldn't surprise me that he is playing less than 100% due to his knee.
to me he just looks a bit awkward in his running, I know he isn't fast, but still just looks a bit different running.

I think that might be it, often times he just doesn't look 100% up there or behind the plate. Perhaps he should be getting a knee surgery instead of trying to tough it out? could that be it?
