Tigers vs. whitesox Game Thread September 13

People don't understand why we get on Leyland....but all those guys in the BP...why Benoit?

Al Al or Schlereth or the new kid Marte should have been fine.

Seems like I never see most of the people who defend Leyland posting in the game threads....Kind of makes you wonder. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when you watch all the games it's easier to second guess than it is just following the recaps or box scores.

Looks like Cleveland is going to lose, lead holds here and magic number will be down to 3!!

It will be 4 since Cleveland's was 6 prior to today.

You assume a lesser pitcher wouldn't have trouble?[/quote:30w6m3c4]

A lesser pitcher would not be the only one warmed up.

If Schlereth went out there, for sure Al Al or someone else would have been throwing also.

As it was he just turned it over to Benoit, than had to do the "oh shit" call to the BP.

Why waste your setup man on a night when you don't need him?

Good point, let's see who he brings out for the 9th, Al Al wasn't completely sharp last time out, he could use an inning, Marte, Perry, Coke anyone other than Valverde please

did Raburn come in as a sub for Rhymes? Like a defensive sub?

For Dirks, Santiago replaced Rhymes, Inge replaced Betemit.

i would have left Verlander in for at least another inning, he only had 106 pitches and had been on a roll over the last several innings. whats done is done though. he's probably trying to save justin for the postseason or something.

i just can't wrap my head around how raburn can look so clueless at the plate for a half a season and then all of a sudden hit lights out.....

OK that is odd, I was going by the yahoo listed number it showed 5 before today's game started. now it shows 6, hell I even heard Rod or Mario indicate earlier tonight it would be 3 also. weird.

4 it is then

PH for Dirks, this was his second AB.

Yeah I saw it was his second just got confused for a second about where he was batting. My fault, was doing sidework for the first 6 innings.

Yep. You can totally draw a correlation between game thread posting and baseball IQ.

Or not...whichever.

Raburn does this every year though, and it's not like he just get's hot.

He goes from lower than whaleshit on the bottom of the sea, to Ted Williams.

It's prolly all in his head, first half he wants to get the monkey off his back and over swings all the time.. second half after sucking the entire first half people no longer expect him to do anything, all the pressure is removed, he relaxes more, stops swinging at so many pitches in the dirt and walla. Now if he's still here next year will he suck in the first half again,

most likely.
