Tigers vs. yankees Game Thread June 3

This is really bad against Hughes. No excuse for this pathetic hitting display this afternoon.
 
Someone sneak Maggs into the lineup. He can probably still hit better than half of these bums.

Leyland told him in April that he would be called up at some point. A starter was put on the DL, so not replacing him with a starter is risky. Below starts and goes six and he's done for the series. He's gone more than 2 innings once this season in an appearance.

I don't have a problem with the Crosby start. It was bound to happen.

would have been better than crosby. call up a new long reliever to replace below. that logic just makes no sense.
 
We are a nose hair away from getting swept in this series. We tried to give that game away last night and it took Cabrera turning into the Hulk for the night to give us a chance.
 
If the Tigers keep playing like this, it solves the problem many have with Leyland and coaches. Other part of the equation is it makes for a sucktastic next 4 months.
Some of this is due to the injuries and many on the DL. But they have been playing below .500 since the 9 and 3 start. Some of this falls on DD and the construction of the team, depth/bench.

Yeah, and that ONE time was 6 shutout innings against TEXAS!!! Done for the series???? So you can instead use him late in mop up duty???

Makes ZERO sense to me.

Verlander is on the hook for a 3rd straight start loss for the first time since 7/31, 8/6, 8/11 2008.
