Time to trim some fat(Durham, Edwards)

Luckily, this organization is pretty young. However, you're correct. GB, Chi and Minn are all worse than people thought going into the year. We're the only NFCC team that has improved over 2012. We have a VERY realistic shot at a division title.

I think making a move now for a WR with a pick you are LIKELY to use on a WR makes a hell of a lot of sense.

I like the Ogletree signing, but he isn't scaring anyone. Jeremy Ross isn't either.

I'll be the charter member of the "I LOVE Shorts" bandwagon. (again, I have NO IDEA if he is available).

I just hope that Lions trading for a receiver starts gaining some steam. I dont get why its not being talked about more.

Let's smash the browns and convince them to trade us gordon. And whoever said we aren't one piece away from a complete team NOONE IS. Look at denvers pitiful defense and they are clearly the best team in the league. Also look at how one playmaker (welker) can make your team that much better. We are a potent enough offense to make the playoffs when healthy. But lack any kind of depth whatsoever. Mayhew and schwartz jobs are on the line. If they are smart they do something desperate. If nicks leaves oh well. We have a free agency and draft to fix that. It's called a stop gap.

One piece away not withstanding, its the mental part of the game that keep me from thinking they can compete for a title.

Don't get me wrong....I don't think they are going to compete for a TITLE this year. I certainly think they have playoff potential......but a Super Bowl is still a year or two away....IMO.

But a #2 WR would put them one step closer.

Shorts literally fits the mold of two guys we already have. (Burleson and Broyles) If we are going to spend a draft pick on a number 2 wr wouldnt it be a guy like Gordon who is big fast and more of a dominant threat on the outside. I have no problem sending away a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Gordon because his talent level dictates that. I would have a huge problem with a high pick being sent away for a Nicks rental. It just doesnt make sense.

Playoffs don't interest me if they don't win games. 2010 was nice because it was such a long time since we made them. Now that we had, next step is to get in and win a game. Getting into the playoffs and losing first game is considered a bad season -IMO.

Any Gordon trade will be tricky for the first-place Browns. He arguably is the most gifted player on Cleveland's offense, with potential to emerge as a top-10 NFL receiver. He's also a suspension risk with a reputation of running with the wrong crowd and possessing both an entitlement mentality and a poor work ethic.

Do you trade a high pick for this guy??

I don't......a 4th......maybe.......but certainly not a 2nd.

He'll fit right in..

Team philosophy.

Old, not funny anymore joke.

Time to move on.

And how can it be team philosophy when the one guy they had like that, Young, was told to leave and then cut almost immediately?

Get some new material....you're starting to sound like Hughes.

This isn't about a bad joke but the fact Detroit needs to start getting guys who have the right mental makeup i.e not screwing up..

Shorts is MUCH more of a playmaker than either Broyles or Burelson is. Look at his numbers with fucking Jacksonville??

Can you imagine what they would look like with a legit QB, #1 WR and one on one coverage?

I think Shorts is a great fit, but would be fine with just about anyone not named Durham or Edwards.

No, you HIGHLIGHTED entitlement mentality and poor work ethic.......then said Gordon would fit right in.

So, tell me, who do we currently have that is like that?

When a player, lets say Delmas, stops on a guy on a key 3rd down - and starts yelling in his face and gets a 15 yard penalty - he's mental. When another player, oh lets say Suh, blocks a guy when another is about to score a TD - and gets a penalty - its mental.

I'm not talking Titus mental but the fact is we have too many players who don't think. Why add another..

Because if he quits smoking pot, he has superstar ability. Hes 22, the entitlement thing should pass with age(maturity). We have a legit chance at possibly having 2 elite wrs.
