To everyone who says Ebron can be like Graham

I just know watching Dennard at MSU that he will be a guy that will come in and be a professional CB. A guy that you can count on to play the position, and don't need to ever worry about. The Lions needed a guy like him. They didn't need Ebron.

They did need Ebron, we are in a position where we need as many offensive options ad possible, we know what happens to this team if there are not above average options at all positions.

Dennard was part of a great MSU defense. That is good and bad, he was a part of it, but it also tends to cover up weaknesses. Also he played a lot of man, there tends to be more zone in the NFL, he will have struggles.

He landed in a great spot,Cinc has talent on defense, he fits well there.

Obviously another 1st roun talent would help this team. However people tend to overvalue players they see often. I'm doubtful luge watched enough Ebron games to determine he doesn't it here.

Don't need to worry about?? That guys gonna get a ton of PI calls against him in the NFL. Guy molests receivers all the way down the field.

The thing that puzzles me is the resigning of Pettigrew. He drops an alarming rate of passes and we could have found a much cheaper option at a blocking TE.

this....

the whole who to take at 10 thing I cant take any sides on cause thee was no one worth it. The biggest bang for our buck probably would have been ebron or Donald. The biggest need was in the secondary but as soon as gilbert was off the board, personally, I thought 10 was too high for Haha or Dennard. Gilbert I liked at 10 just for his athleticism and big play ability....something our defense lacks.

Pettigrew though...ill just never be a fan of I guess....

Pettigrew can be a productive receiver. But now he is the 5th option not the 3rd. 5th option still gets 60 targets. He is not stricly a blocking te, he's an all around TE. This 5th option helps him. He dropped 6 passes last year and fumbled in a win Week 1. 7 plays you focus on but he does produce as a receiver. Ebron is the matchup nightmare. Pettigrew is productive and will get snaps and production but Ebron provides something very different which you get at pick 10.

I didn't focus on any plays. I focused on his career and what my expectations are for a mid 1st rd pick. He hasn't lived up to those expectations. Im sure you can point out 1 year a long time ago when he did....but unfortunately I don't have a selective memory like you.

2010 and 2011. 2012 too if not for injury missing 4 games he had 700 yards even with drops and 2 fumbles. He is a productive te in both yards and blocking. Fauria is the td man now which pettigrew is not that

Pick 20 was the right spot for pettigrew at the time too

2 good years then came to camp out of shape / over weight and all went down hill from there. He hurt his ankle because he was over weight and out of shape. He is a 3rd TE on most teams. He actually is not that great of a blocker in all reality and not worth what they are going to pay him.

LKP, you continue to over rate players with no hard evidence.

I agree. They are trying to emulate the Saints offense. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out, especially if Stafford plays at the level LKP thinks he is at.

Can we get Brees and their defense..that's the best way to emulate them.
