tOfficial MICHIGAN v Vanderbilt Series Thread

You guys might disagree with me but I?m not starting Criswell tomorrow.

I am starting another good starter who hasn?t started in a while but Michigan has a few of them-again, probably Ben Dragani-and saving Creswell to close the win in game two or game three with Kaufman back at normal rest.

Byco, you know more about baseball than any Michigan poster on this board-what do you think?

I agree keep him in the pen ! Start a youngster or a jr!

Who is Vandy likely to start tomorrow?

Well it?s going to be Rocker.

I am all in Mayo Smith Mickey Stanley to shortstop in the ?68 World Series.

Keep Criswell the closer in game two, and game three, if need be.

Playing with house money game two.

This

He crossed into the baserunners path. His momentum took him that way, but you are supposed to use the bag to change your direction up the line.

Yes I?d have too see the replay but it looks like he try?s to turn toward second or left to
Me and they just collided. Did He really initiate more contact then the Vandy Runner
Just curious.

If you are the runner, you DO NOT have to avoid the pitcher or any other player trying to make that play. At that point it is a sprint and there is no fielding of the ball for the runner to interfere with. Also, if there are other runners at the bags, they're play heads up to see if that ball pops loose and move up. We were taught at an early age to use the bag to cut up the line so as to avoid legs getting tangled and suffering a broken leg. Coming from the rubber a pitcher already has a positive angle to the bag. You're not asking him to make a 90 degree cut, just using the bag a little to make a little direction change.

I'm watching the replay. Holy shit did we leave a shit load of runners in scoring position!!!! This game could have easily been 11-4. Last inning, guys at 1st and 3rd with no outs. How did they not score? Jeeze. Let's not do that 2morrow. Everybody scores!!

Even Juwon and Hutch scores tomorrow.

Freshman. Three a no hitter against duke a few weeks ago

Yikes! Important to have won the first game so that Vandy has to use him in game 2. I would hate to have to face that guy in game 3.

I think he was trying to turn towards home to see if the guy that was on 3rd was going to try to score. I guess Henry could have tried to push off the bag to change his direction and then turn. I don't think he had a lot of momentum carrying him across the basepath. The Vandy guy was out, I guess you can't really blame him for trying to knock the ball out. He looked a bit angry and like he was going to go after Henry. No reason for that.

I'm a "dance with who got you there" advocate. I start the best available arm.

The Vandy runner was going all out. No way he could change direction at that point. Super slow mo makes that seem possible, but the laws of physics operate bit differently.

This shit happens in sports sometimes. It's not a big deal.

Yeah on at leas 3-5 difference times we had a runner on third and less then 2 outs and failed to get the sac Fly or ground out rbi. Heck in One time the broadcaster were even saying Vandy was Conceding the run, and we struck out. That said all 9 batters hit a hit last night.

Many factors in this call, and I did not see it, so I can't comment. Can't locate a link.

That makes sense. Yeah had no clue why the Vandy runner looked aggressive like he wanted to punch tommy.

Ok thanks For the explanation!
