Rocker season stats. I say use our speed and get the guy moving as much as possible. Try and get his pitch count up and get to vandy?s Middle relief guys if at all possible. Easier said then done. Hopefully are hitters won?t be intimidated by What Rocker did to Duke?

Thanks: Seems like a no-call to me. Vandy runner made no attempt to dislodge the ball, either. Just a big guy running full speed. Henry could have stepped off the bag and stayed in fair, IMO, but maybe the high throw extended him too much.

At full speed it looks like Henry got the better of the collision. The Vandy guy winds up flat on his back. Henry really wasn't in the basepath so much as just the bulk of the Vandy guy exceeded the available room. I see this as just an accidental collision. The Vandy guy was going full speed as he should have been to try to make the bag. Don't know why the guy on 3rd didn't try to make it home. I think he would have been safe.

He is due for a bad outing. Let's hope it is today.

Could Karl go again today? I agree with others that think they should save Criswell for game 3 (if necessary).

Yep, it's not a big deal. Technically, Henry should try and step on the inside of the bag and avoid the base path, but it's stuff that just happens. Sometimes you end up in the base path and you get ran into. Big whoop.

Probably not the time to take the 45-degree (to the baseline) and the parallel path to the base, nor the opportunity to run through the baseline and avoid the runner. PFP is important, but not always representative of actual 3-1 outs.

So, circling back to yesterday?s discussion of baseball literature, I had this idea as I was reading posts I was too busy to respond to until now-if my parents had seen me reading ?Ball Four? as a young adolescent kid, they must?ve thought it was a sweet innocent baseball story like ?The Kid From Tomkinsville? Or Mickey Mantle?s collection of short biographies ?The Quality of Courage,? because if they had had any idea of the shit that I was reading, they would?ve taken that book right straight away and pitched it right into the trash.

I read it in 1971. I was 14 and I loved every word. Some of my buddies were not as happy with the revelations (especially about Mantle), but I ate it up. I did not share my enthusiasm with my parents; they did not know about me reading it -- my dad was too savvy to be fooled by the title, and he knew a lot of ballplayers, so, my only gripe would have been "thanks for holding out on me!"

Because this team is relaxed and fun-loving about this experience, it has affected me in the same way. I am following it on Twitter and watching the highlights later and that's what I'll do today. I'll be asleep before the game is over anyway. I can't angst over every pitch and enjoy the experience. A Giants' fan friend of mine listened to the 2010 WS on the radio, because he listened to the regular season games, too, and did not want to change his routine.

I was probably going to grow up to be a cynic anyway, but that book definitely opened the door that makes this atheist wake up every day day, thanking God for my sense of the ironic and the absurd.

My grandmother grew up in Coffeeville, KS ...stone's throw from Miami (pronounced "Miam-uh"), OK and her older sister knew the Mick and crew before he went famous.

Will likely miss tonight's Game 2 due to a work dinner in OC but hoping there's a TV in the bar area of the restaurant.

Any bar that doesn?t have ESPN on TV should be shut down.

I was going to make a political joke but then I realized that this isn?t the politics board, so I?ll just make it later over there.

Just stream it on your phone and nod and say "yeah", "uh huh", or "totally agree" every few minutes.

Screw that. That Vandy dude was dirty. He knew he was going to be out by a longshot. When you know that, you pull up or veer out of the way, so you don't hurt someone. He looked aggressive, because he was mad at Henry and Michigan for beating them and wanted to hurt him.

Anyway, as far as the pitcher that is going tonight: the commentators were sucking him off near the end of the game, just like they sucked off the guy who started last night. Well, Michigan wacked him around. The commentators were sucking off Vandy players all night and we saw what happened.

He might very well be awesome. We'll see.

At the beginning of the game last night, they were saying the guy that went last night was the best pitcher. Then near the end, they were saying the guy going tonight is the best pitcher...

Yes this is why boxers don?t have sex well they are training for a fight.

I'm a "dance with who got you there" advocate. I start the best available arm.

Exactly, but I say the best available arm is still Chriswell-out of the bullpen.

Without him, twice the bullpen has been a dumpster fire.

After Tommy, Kaufman and Chriswell, Michigan?s best starter looks to me to be sophomore southpaw Ben Dragani.

If it?s me, I?m playing with house money tonight, starting Dragani, and giving Chris well two chances to save and close one game for the title.
