tOfficial MICHIGAN v Vanderbilt Series Thread

Why can’t Michigan also use its success in getting to the championship game to also help in its own recruiting?

Cannot say i am surprised

Bittersweet

No one expected us to get this far and at least we won 1

Some good stories
bakich vs mentor
Kerr family
Vandy pitcher game 1 honoring Donovan dead brother

Michigan has not won a ncaa title in hockey, baseball, basketball, and football in some time now. I think we have won some smaller sports. Other bigger schools make it look easy lol.

1962 baseball.......Runner up 2019.
1997 football..
1998 hockey.........Runner up 2011 in ot.
1989 basketball....Runner up in 2014, and 2018.
2005 softball........Runner up in 2015.

It hurts that is all. Because we were so close. I really think the game plan verses Rocker was poor. We did nothing to get him off his game at all. Tonight we had a chance early but Kerr picked a bad time to go in a funk. His at bat was key. And still if Karl gets his strike with bases loaded the game is still 1-1.

I?d love to see framed pitches of Rocker and Hickman?s Zone compared to Michigan pitchers and Espically Karl?s bases loaded strike that wasn?t called.

Amazing run by Michigan! Just hope Bakich can make this program a perennial winner. GO BLUE!

I?d rather go in every year to the championship game than not get there.

This unexpected postseason run and baseball was a lot of fun right up until this game.

None of us ever said we didn?t. All we said is it gets old losing them. I guess we all can?t be
Alabama, and Clemson or any Sec school. Lol. Or any Minnesota school in hockey? Or say
Villanova or Duke in hoops. Heck now Virginia has a title. Yup Bridesmaid Again sadly .

Anyone who complains about Michigan Baseball 2019 has other, more substantial base issues. These kids are not in place to win championships for us. Not in this or any other collegiate sport, inspite of the way the "system" is constructed. Championships in collegiate sports are the icing on the cake. If winning championships is the sole reason why someone supports a college team, it's misguided. *gets off soapbox*

EDIT: They did not win a title, but they won my admiration, respect and support -- and gratitude for their refreshing approach to the game.

I can't remember this much Blue baseball talk on here before I thought on Monday they might do it. Congrats for that.

Well said.

Hell, stay on that soapbox if you want to keep preaching that fire!

They had a hell of a run and I really enjoyed watching it. The players gave all they had and have nothing to be ashamed of.

Should be proud.

None of the so-called experts expected this at all.

Would be nice to see baseball join football and basketball as frequently discussed in the national championship conversations.

Also softball. They count too.

It was 2013 that Michigan made it to the championship game of basketball against Louisville.

You should Do what I do-view that team as the default national champions as Louisville was ineligible to win Or actually even participate at the time it allegedly happened; it just wasn?t discovered until a little later.

I had a lot of fun. And I haven't had this much fun this deep into the summer with college sports in 4 ever. Miss the days where the Wings would make it to the playoffs and then turn my attention to the Tigers to finish off the summer and make the playoffs. This would be great to see Michigan and other Big10 teams start making the playoffs on a yearly basis and beat these southern teams.

Umpire last night is from East Lansing my friend said .my sound was muted . Is that true ?
