tOfficial MICHIGAN v Vanderbilt Series Thread

It was 2013 that Michigan made it to the championship game of basketball against Louisville.

You should Do what I do-view that team as the default national champions as Louisville was ineligible to win Or actually even participate at the time it allegedly happened; it just wasn?t discovered until a little later.

Like I have said before . Just fix it then ?

Just heard it on the radio about the ump. Sounds like a Mark Emmertt move. Strikezone in the series makes perfect sense now if true.

I haven?t seen you post that before and I also don?t know what it means.

How would whomever was going to just fix something whatever that something is fix it?

I posted 2014. Instead of making another post just fix the number. I have always mentioned anyone can fix my post if there is a mistake in there. Don?t try and make it harder then it is lol. I missed the year. Just edit it. I trust you.

Oh.

I thought you were talking about that Michigan and should be named it national champions now that Louisville has had it vacated. I was asking how to fix that.

So the ump from EL was sabotaging Michigan pitching?

We sure didn?t get the same strike zone as the Vandy pitchers in all three games. Espically the last two games and it wasn?t even close. Rocker was great but there was at least 7-10 batters were the at bats should have been different because of the strike zone he was getting. It continued to game three also

When your a huge underdog to began with these little edges do not help at all. I watched Michigan baseball all season and the strike zone on the ncaa compared to the big ten tournament was just not the same in my opinion Same thing happened in all three games at UCLA. Just call the game the same. Again just my opinion.
There is a huge difference heading to the top of half inning tied 1-1 and not 4-1. Karl had the strikeout. It was not even that close of a pitch it was a strike. That ball was called a strike all series for Vandy pitchers, and sometimes Michigan pitchers. Anyway close but no cigar. Just like Ohio refs missing a spot. Or only calling 2 flags against a team that averaged 6 on the season.

I just want games called fair as we were the underdog in baseball and both basketball games. Can?t remember who was favored in the 2011 hockey game but it was a home game practically for Minnesota-Duluth. It is frustrating because we were beating Louisville and let them back in, and when we were making a conference in the second half the Burke call happens and we just can?t overcome it. I think Villanova was a 6-8 point favored, and Louisville was a 4 point favorite I think. Just need to overcome I guess.

Umpires do not consciously adjust strike zones for each team. It's actually impossible. You can be a bad umpire, and they exist, but, when behind the plate, you have one thing on your mind: Watch the baseball. I watched G2 highlights and that HPU to me was consistent, fair, and accurate with his calls. M made errors, stranded baserunners and two WPs plated two runs for Vanderbilt. They needed to sweep to win the championship.

No you?re wrong.

Every referee, umpire or official who has ever called any sports event of the University of Michigan or any professional Detroit team has always consciously made calls to hinder that team and help their opponent.

If you don?t believe it, just read any game thread for any of those teams that Bob has ever posted on.

I?ve played, coached and officiated HS baseball, youth sports and other pre-collegiate level athletics. We boarded a plane today from SD to DEN where the guy in front of us had been in SD to officiate a very high level soccer tournament; national HS/youth travel teams.

There is no BS bias. No way. You can?t even try, plus the kids ...no. Some idea that M baseball got the short end from the officials.

I reject that idea. I agree with Byco.

I had a lot of fun. And I haven't had this much fun this deep into the summer with college sports in 4 ever. Miss the days where the Wings would make it to the playoffs and then turn my attention to the Tigers to finish off the summer and make the playoffs. This would be great to see Michigan and other Big10 teams start making the playoffs on a yearly basis and beat these southern teams.

Agree 1000% brother

Give it a rest will you. I am not the only one who complains on the refs. I will move on. It?s apparent where you blind fellows stand on the subject. Lol
All refs are not bias according to a few of you clowns on this board. We just have to move on like we always do and take it like we always do. Bridesmaids yet again. No more complaining if that is what you want on the refs.

Don?t stop-it?s just way too much fun when you do!

Tell us again how the California Angels hosed the Detroit Tigers in 2011 by not playing Torii Hunter and Bobby Abreu in game 162 against the Texas Rangers - that timeless classic never gets old!

We played baseball at Alpena once where the home plate Ump was the starting pitcher’s Dad ....I played CF and batted lead off and can say his Zone varied.

We lost both games and when leaving on the team bus, a bunch of younger kids threw rocks at us.

Fucking hate Alpena.

What happened I forget ? Home field or something along those lines ? We were pummeled by Texas 4-2 in that series. Cruz hit 9 million homers. Weird how we had no issue with the Yankees in the post season play. It is just the other clubs, and bad managerial decisions.

Yes it was home-field.

And I?m totally just busting your chops at this point.

Still mad at the time when first base umpire Bill Haller blew that call against the Tigers in game 5 of the 1972 ALCS when he said Cash pulled his foot on a ground out. Terrible call. Led to the winning run.

Tell me more, please. any other stories about it?

I've been kicking around an idea about buying some land up there, and building a house to retire in; it's the least developed part of Michigan. I am curious about what it's like. It's one of the few parts of Michigan I've never been to.

It looks quaint, but I don't know if all the people are in-bred psychotic conspiracy theorists
