Didn't we already have Gase?

Are you referring to him being the Qb coach in 2007? Or going to Michigan State? Or being born in Ypsi?

Yeah. I don't remember him being with State but I do when he was here.. You'd think he would know, to not coach here.

Detroit isn't listed but this just makes competition for other candidates tougher.

Broncos blocking teams from interviewing Gary Kubiak for OC openings

As they wait to fill their head-coaching vacancy, the Denver Broncos have blocked other teams from trying to hire away former head coach Gary Kubiak as an offensive coordinator, league sources told ESPN.

Both the Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals have requested permission to interview Kubiak, who currently works as a senior personnel adviser with the Broncos, for their offensive coordinator jobs.

But Denver plans to keep Kubiak, according to sources, and would like him to work with whomever the Broncos hire as their next head coach, if that hire is open to that arrangement.

Kubiak is considered one of the top offensive coordinator candidates around the league. He still is under contract with Denver, and the Broncos can deny him from leaving.

Kubiak would like to stay in Denver anyway, sources said.

Kubiak, 57, went 21-11 in two seasons as the Broncos' head coach and guided Denver to a victory in Super Bowl 50. He stepped away from coaching after the 2016 season, citing health issues.

I thought you couldn't go OC to OC if you are under contract. So he could only take a HC gig this year.

That is true, you can't hire for a lateral move. Only if it's a promotion, but technically you could make him assistant head coach/OC, since that is considered a promotion.

I think he is already assistant head coach/OC.

Ah, if that's the case then I think HC is the only option until his contract is up. Not that he I would want him.

I don't think he knows what he wants. He balked out of a deal last season, thankfully for the Colts he did. Then he had an interview or two this season and withdrew his name saying he's staying in NE.

McDaniels wanted some stability for his family, same school for his kids.
Patriots sweeten his deal to stay with them,

and patriots get even with the colts when the Colts kicked off the NFL?s dumbest scandal by ratting out the Patriots for using under-inflated footballs during a 45-7 AFC Championship Game rout.

New Englanders suddenly saw a fading Indianapolis team as the source of 544 days of drama (and a lost first-round pick. And, indirectly, the rise of Jimmy Garoppolo. And, much more indirectly, the arrival of wide receiver Phillip Dorsett. You know what? It?s a long story) for the Pats.

New England got some revenge in a 34-27 win in October 2015 that pushed its winning streak against Indy to seven games, but the feud on the field has been left to simmer since then.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard, hired to extinguish the smoldering coal fire lit by former GM Ryan Grigson and still pouring noxious fumes into Lucas Oil Stadium, made it a point to mend the rift between the two teams. He even reached out to Belichick in an effort to build a relationship with the AFC East powerhouse.

But then the Colts sent out their premature tweet, Belichick lured McDaniels back from a lucrative opportunity in America?s most mall-shaped city, and Indianapolis was left as the last coach-less team through 2018?s offseason.

Everyone's hiring their guys... and then there's the lions left to pick up the scraps. New management.. same ol shit.

He knew Mcvay and Reich and Nagy would be super successful. He didn?t say it, but he knew it, All you need is the extreme health those teams had and colts easy schedule and presto change-oh, lions are winning playoff games

Belichick went 5-11 first year with pats. Patricia went 6-10. Better than belichick. Get ready for 20 years of lions dominance boys
