Seeing some of the pictures and video from the last 12 hours or so, Putin seems to have come to the realization that he won't be able to just march his troops around Ukraine however he wants. Massive missiles/bombs launched targeting heavily populated cities.

So much for it just being a 'special operation' to free the Ukraine people from Nazism.

Maybe he's backtracked a lot in the last couple days? I think being used in Russian propaganda clips didn't make him feel very good. To say as you said that he "unequivocally condemned the invasion and Putin" is pretty disingenuous. He's been a Putin apologist long before this whole Ukraine thing. GOP leaders have even called him out in prior to this.

I'll agree, as I've done multiple times in this thread, that he doesn't represent Republican opinion. But I won't agree that he's been anti Putin in the slightest.
