well anyway, it's good to see Raburn off to a good start

Most every marginal player is streaky. Boesch can't hit in the second half, Avila can't hit in the playoffs, Peralta was below average August-October last year. They all have problems, just like Raburn. Guys like Cabrera and Fielder are pretty much the only kind of players that have good months always. And it's been a week. Jesus.

And you tell me it's "interesting" that i lump Raburn and Inge in a comparison. But you go and lump Raburn with Peralta and Avila who had All-Star numbers..lol. C'mon, man!!

Oh, and Raburn has been a Tiger for more than 7 days. So, telling people to stop freaking out because we're 7 days in the 2012 season is ridiculous. This is the norm for Raburn. It has been for years.

But NO, let's just sit here and hope for that second half mashing. Wow.

I agree with Mi_Thumb's previous post.
Boesch was slumping for whatever 2/3 weeks and then admitted the sore thumb and what was found.
Avila admitted he was physically beat,

The thing for me with Raburn is this yearly predictability...overall first half is awful, then he comes around and hits like a reserve all-star,
Tigers should have a steam room in the Comerica Park clubhouse, stick him in there and turn the heat up to 80 or 90 before every home game at bat before mid/end of June.

I would think from all comments we all agree that Raburn and/or Dirks should be playing leftfield, with Young the DH 75/80 percent of the time.

Delmon Young oWAR: 5.2

Ryan Raburn oWAR: 5.2

Delmon Young dWAR: -5.4

Ryan Raburn dWAR: -0.9

That's the SAME on offense Mitch, and miles better on defense.

I said they were similar and they are. Anyone watching the circus show in the 8th inning in LF could see Delmon is a bad outfielder. But it doesn't mean those two are miles apart in talent as you suggested above. Offensively, they are one in the same.

They are miles apart Mitch, simply because Delmon is horrible on defense.

All things aside, Raburn is a superior player, just like his WAR suggests.

I see DY at 5.4 and K Burn at 5.2, just on offense. They both stink on defense.

Raburn is considerably better on defense (in LF that is, he's just as bad at 2B as DY is in left), as well as on the base paths.

So if they are equal on offense, then Raburn is the better player.

And of course, DY is being paid 6.75 million while Raburn is getting 2.1 million.

And guess where K Burn is playing, that's right - 2B.

Which has nothing to do with your point of people who defend Raburn wanting DY gone.

Because we only defend him as a LFer, which is where he should be, while DY should be on another team, or at least DHing.

If you really think Raburn should have a spot but DY not then you're delusional.

Another thing to note...

everyone got so excited about the 40 games Delmon played for the Tigers last year: he was still a negative WAR player. -0.1.

Because he kicked ass in the playoffs. I don't think anyone disagrees that DY is the worse defensive player. So Raburn gets a D+ on defense and DY gets an F. Whoop dee doo.

I stand corrected, only making $502,500. He's even that much better.
