Well at least we aren't thugs

"You saw how they didn't shake our hands after the game?" MSU safety Isaiah Lewis said. "It's a lack of respect."

"You've got to take it to heart a little bit, because of the fact you're constantly being disrespected," Jarel Worty. "The 'Little Brother' comments and things like that kind of get to you. So you've gotta go out there and make a statement."

biggunsbob[/color]]Well I may have missed it but the announcers were talking about the players. I saw Hoke shake somebodies hand.. But it won't be the first time i am wrong... My friends son was at the game and he said that the Spartan football players went to the Michigan fans section after the game instead of their own fans and were taunting them.. I have no idea if it is true just what i heard from the father. Most years i root for Sparty in other games then the Michigan game because of my wife but it is going to be hard to do that this year.. The more you watch the replays and then read the comments from the classless defensive coordinator from MSU you can see that they intentional try injure players. Now I remember that Mike Martin was hurt last season on a cut block but MSU... You know one holds him and another chops him... So Sparty can just fuck-off for the time being..

That Head twist has no place on a football field and there is nothing a MSU fan can do or say to defend it... No reason for it.. Gohlston is to good a player and does not need to do that type of stuff period.

THAT WAS CRAZY: Will Gholston had a fine day for the Spartans, but he probably shouldn't have been on the field for the fourth quarter. In the third quarter, Gholston was flagged for piling on Denard Robinson well after the play was over, then wrenching Robinson's helmet around for good measure. Later in the quarter, Gholston was being manhandled away from the play by Michigan OL Taylor Lewan, and when Gholston made it to his feet, he summarily punched Lewan in the facemask.

Famed referee Mike Pereira said on Twitter that he would have ejected Gholston, and it's entirely possible that MSU or the Big Ten will suspend Gholston next week when Wisconsin comes to town.

No denying they played dirty as hell and that cocky bitch Gholston needs to sit a game or two. I don't think the coaches are trying to hurt the other team, and I know we will never find out for sure, just your opinion against mine. You are probably right about Hoke shaking Dantonios hand, Johnny also said the same thing. The players needed to follow suit, no matter how mad you are about the style of play. Show them you're a bigger man, don't walk away mad.

How easy is it to sit there and say UM players should have been "The bigger man" and shake hands after the game. Have you ever been involved in a game like that? Do you know what it feels like to get hacked throughout the entire game? That wasn't simply a tough physical game where both teams played a clean hard hitting game. MSU played like punks. They didn't deserve any congratulations from UM.

Ok man, I am glad that you are finally able to admit that your team played dirty. You can't expect to receive respect for such a game plan. Playing hard hitting football is fine. No one has a problem with play like that. Play hard, hit hard, during the play. I respect that. But a dirty game plan of late hits with the intent to injure is not going to get you respect, even when you win. If it only happened once or twice, then it would not be an issue, but it was consistent throughout the game showing that it was the plan. This was particularly apparent when Rush wrapped up Denard well after the pass was thrown and body slammed him putting him out of the game, and then is shown being congratulated on the sidelines by his MSU teammates. There is no place for that. I cannot respect that kind of play or a team that engages and congratulates it. It is thuggary that should not be condoned and deserves no respect. So, if sparty is going to play like that they are not going to be respected, even after a win. It sucks doesn't it? So, let it be a lesson to you sparty. If you play like that you will not be congratulated on winning or given respect.

I have been asking for an explanation of why sparty had to resort to such a dirty game plan and still have not received one from sparty. But in reading the comments I think I understand. Sparty feels that they are disrespected and are going to be disrespected no matter how they play. So, why not play dirty if you believe you are going to be disrepected in the end anyway, whether you win or lose. It is a kind of "little brother" attitude. The problem is that it seems that, like Miami and OSU, sparty has embraced the gangsta image. Even the coaching staff that apparently came up with this dirty game plan. That is too bad. Having grown up in Michigan and loving the state, it is my nature to root for Michigan teams. But I can't root for a team that plays dirty. Playing like that will never earn you the respect that you so desperately seek.

Now, I hope that in next year's game Michigan doesn't resort to dirty play. I guess I could understand it, but I don't think they will. Coach Hoke is too classy a coach for that. I would be really disappointed if Michigan played like that and would not hesitate to call my team out for it. No, next year Michigan will win and play good clean hard hitting football. I hope sparty will watch to see how it is done.

It was not just Gholston. Suck it up and deal with it boogerboy. Your team is dirty. You'll not get any respect or congratulations on that win around here.

and you obviously don't know what you're talking about as pointed out by Bob

I never saw the handshake, taking another posters word is not cement. What do you care anyway, you think its fine to not shake hands after a game, some sportsman you are.

I played football all the way through school through my senior year. Never once did any of us players shake the opposing teams' players' hands. It is tradition for the coaches to shake hands after the game, but there is no tradition in football of players having to go over and shake the hands of their opponents. Its done in basketball and hockey, but we never did it in football. I see it not done every saturday.

60 minutes of unnecessary roughness

Listen to the quote moron. Did he say "i told gholston to twist Robinsons head around". Nope. Just said that if swarming to the football is unnecessary roughness then thats what they want to do ....."60 minutes of unnecessary roughness".

Man up Nancy.

What a dumb thing for a coach to say. It's classless to the core of the team. Say you want a swarming defense, or 11 hats to the football, or whatever, but 60 minutes of personal foul sounds stupid/bush league.

Yeah, it is like they come here seeking respect and when they don't get it they start stamping their feet, crying, and call people names. It is pathetic really.

oh I'm a man. Don't think that since you are talking tough on an internet msg board that you are somehow anything like your football players. You're not tough and you're not gangsta...although I'm sure you want to act like it.

he's just surprised they didn't call it every play. He is supporting it with this statement. The fact that you can't see it is not suprising.

Of course, this is a guy that calls himself, "boogerlovejoy," so i'm not surprised.

Comparing not shaking hands to what was done to deserve it is a joke, a warped way of looking at things.
