Who are your 2013 Hall of Fame Players

2013 Hall of Fame Candidates: The BBWAA Ballot.

Everyone has an idea of who they want to see voted into the HOF.
Some won't vote for players with the Steroid/PED's linked to them, some will.
Some won't vote for a player with low WAR.
plenty of reasons to vote for or not vote for players.

My list:
Trammell
Raines
Biggio
Bagwell
Martinez
McGriff
Morris
Smith

Noticeable admissions are Bonds, Clemens, Piazza, among those accused of being 'tainted'
I feel they are Hall of Famers, and hope they get voted in a few years. I'm not ready to vote them in now if I had a vote.
and this will cause some to question it, if they Are HoF'ers then why wait? good point and no good answer, it's probably a combo of reasons for or against at this point in time.
Against wins out this year.

I want Morris and Tram to get in. I honestly think they both should be. I would vote Tram, Morris, Bonds, Clemens and Piazza.

Morris could get in but I suspect Trammell will fall way short. I'm thinking 35% maybe? I suspect Biggio and possibly Morris..

I don't care if they did take some juice. Raines took cocaine, why isn't that a problem? Schmidt took speed and he is in. I don't have enough certainty that someone like Bagwell didn't take steroids to keep better players out.

Personally I'm torn on the issue. I believe Trammel is HOF quality. Morris, eh.

So it comes down to do I want to see the HoF diluted to the hall of pretty good, just to keep the PED users out, or do I want the HoF to be tainted by guys who owe more to the vial and syringe than to dedication, hustle, plain talent.

I'm saying the issue is not that they drank or took drugs......read this part slowly.....that some players (Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, Sosa) took Performance enhancing drugs, and that's different than a little cocaine, or a bottle of Jack Daniels.

If you got caught or admitted it they shouldn't make it. I don't by the excuse "well they all took it, even playing field" BS. Because the ones that didn't do anything, even if there is only a few, are at a disadvantage.

I've heard over the years that 500 home runs don't mean a thing anymore. That's because guys like Bonds and Arod (who've been caught) are hitting 700.

I agree. Trammell should be in. Whitaker should be in (it's a shame that the sports writers don't know who he is). Morris shouldn't go IMO.

The thing is that Jose Canseco did not invent steroids. I don't know if Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken, Dave Winfield, Rickey Henderson, or any of the HOF's from the 70s, 80's, 90's were using. So why punish this group just because MLB decided to start testing? I would just let them in and move on. They can put an note on their plaque that they tested positive for PEDs.

Players have been taking PED's forever. But we are going to pretend that they weren't helped by them. A juiced up baseball and no strike zone for players like Barry Bonds is what helped players hit 700 home runs. The steroids are a secondary issue. You just said it yourself, you have no idea if they were using. You can't keep guys out because of an assumption.

One year is a small sample size. And without ped's, Bonds doesn't hit 700 home runs, and Mcguire doesn't hit 600 thus making 500 meaningless, no one hits 73 at anytime let alone his age. And it's not because the balls were juiced and bad strike zone..

Pitchers had to throw the ball right down the middle to bonds or else it was a ball.

Look at David Ortiz. He tested positive in 2009

Isn't somewhere in the voting criteria you see character and service to the game and shit? This is the perfect time to vote for Tram, who did it the right away with honor, fair play etc. And he was pretty darn good player to boot.

If I was a kid, I wouldn't want to visit the HOF and see the likes of Bonds and Clemens with their Ped notes beneath there plague.

Right. Not some magic pill at all, that's why the whole baseball world was turned on it's ass, because PED's are not a big deal. That's why guys get nearly season-ending suspensions now.

Now did those players have exceptional talent to start with? Yes. Did their exceptional accomplishments come from their talents alone? No.
