Who do you want to see the Tigers acquire

swisher would be a nice veteran outfielder, but he is asking for Jayson Werth money, and that would be foolish. I would like to see the Tigers get him if he would sign for 8-11M a year for about 4-5 years.

I HIGHLY doubt this happens, but I read yesterday where a NYY writer suggested the Yankees could sign Swisher and let Granderson go in an effort to bring payroll down. If they did that, I'd love to have Grandy back in one of the corner OF spots. I'm sure he'd cost stupid money though, so it's probably even more unrealistic from that standpoint if he were to be let go by the Yankees.

I imagine that Granderson will be greatly overpaid. He is a good player, but he still strikes out a ton and seems to be swinging for the fences every AB. I guess it would depend on what kind of money Granderson is looking for. If the Tigers could sign him for a decent price i'd love to have Granderson back. His BA is low, but he still gets on base at a decent clip and has good power.

BTW, Swisher is out of his frickin' gourd to think he or Werth are worth anywhere near the deal Werth got.

Even a 3yr/$45mil deal seems like way too much to me.

Yeah, Werth/The Nationals fucked up the market by agreeing to this deal. Now every outfielder who has put up numbers similar to Werth think they should be paid like Werth, which is foolish.

I dont think that Swisher is worth $15M/year. I would gladly take Swisher at around 4yr/$44M. He is making 10.25M this year and I'm sure he would like a pay increase.

Yeah, if you batted him somewhere other than leadoff, he'd be a much better fit here. His defense would be a huge bonus too. We could go from terrible to great by swapping him for either of Young or Boesch.

I'd bat him 2nd or 6th, assuming Victor will be back and healthy next year. He still gets on base at a decent clip, and I'd imagine his BA would increase playing outside of NY, where BA is sacrificed for power.

Ajax
Granderson
Miggy
Prince
Victor
Peralta
Dirks
Infante
Avila

I have no interest in Grandy. a 30 home run hitter, outside NY, that strikes out a ton and doesn't care about anything else. Better than Delmon, sure, but he'd be frustrating as hell with his .240 BA.

Which FA outfielder are you interested in?
Mine:
1) Hamilton (pipe dream), if and only if, Miggy and Verlander are guaranteed to be re-signed.
2) Swisher
3) Granderson
4) Bourn (could move Jackson down in the order)

No interest? C'mon Mitch. Grandy isn't a one-dimensional dud like Delmon. Sure, his BA sucks, but he gets on base, hits for power, is a great defender, and is a good teammate. I think he'd flourish as a corner OF who hit farther down in the order.

His away numbers blow. We all know he's better than Delmon but will cost a ton. And is one dimensional. And I'm not allowed to disagree with the masses? And he's not a great defender, that's laughable.

I'm telling you, I'd like to see Eric Young Jr. play here next season. You'd have to trade for him, but I think that a deal that benefitted both teams could transpire.

It'd all depend on how much money he is looking to get in FA. Granderson is a good player, regardless of his low BA, like I said BA is sacrificed in NY for power. I would not pay Granderson superstar money, but if he'd be willing to take 10-12M/year for 5/6 years, I think he would be more than worth it.

Curtis had his day in Detroit. I'll wish him well and look for a younger, less expensive version of himself.

The Tigers dont need a young inexperienced outfielder, they have plenty of those. They need a solid veteran. Eric Young Jr. does nothing for me.

Grandy BA was shit when he was still here. 2007 was such an awesome year and then it fell every year after that. Last two years BA, .249 and .247. And his defense is sub par.

Actually, I was thinking that Young could play second base, too. And leadoff.

I still think that Granderson was the biggest factor in the Tigers' collapse of 2009, and THE reason why they lost the ALC tie-breaker.
