Why not brandin cooks at 10

That's cool...

The kid's a stud and is a top 10 pick IMO. When i read garbage that he is a terrible route runner and shit, i think of players like Demaryius Thomas and even Calvin. Players that were not goid at running routes but are fn studs in the NFL. Evans is that guy to me. Reminds me of Vincent Jackson to a tee.

He would be a steal at #10

Demaryius Thomas was a project. He played college ball in a triple option offense and had little to no production. Heres the difference....hes 6'3'' and ran a 4.3....and STILL got picked 22. Mike Evans isn't nearly as athletic or explosive....its not even close. Vincent Jackson....probably a decent comparison. Sooo....heres the problem. Vincent Jackson is quite a bit faster, the same height, was a 2nd round pick and it took him 5 years before he had a decent season in the NFL. I don't pick that at 10.....Id be good picking him in rd 2 where Vincent Jackson was drafted.

Meh, you say project, i say he was raw. Everybody knew the talent was there.

And the experts are comparing Evans to the current VJ. Not the rookie Vincent Jackson. Big difference, man. Well worth the #10 pick. Evans has all the tools to be a productive WR from day 1 and then some.

Whoa. Watkins would be a "steal" at 10. Evans on the other, would be an ok pick. He isn't even the best player at his position, BY FAR. I'd rather draft Ebron at 10, sign a WR, and draft best available WR in the 2nd, whether it be Beckham Moncrief Landry or Matthews.

Ebron drops the ball at an alarming rate is what i understand. Evans is a fn beast IMO. Size, good speed and HANDS HANDS HANDS...catches everything.

You may want to check Demaryius Thomas production in college. He was an extremely productive/explosive receiver at georgia tech. He had a ridiculous yards per reception average.

His junior year he had 1100 yards on 45 catches. 25 yards a catch.

Hughes is also on record as saying Calvin Johnson has regressed....so clearly his ability to scout WR talent is Millenesque!

1100 yards in a college season in a triple option offense is "little to no" production!

45 catches is very little production. His y pc was high cause he ran 1 route....ALL YEAR. my knowledge is based on what nfl teams were saying about him when he was comming out...which is why he was labeled a project and selected 22nd. I actually have knowledge on the subject cause I watch football. ...you just spout off nonsense.

Calvin Johnson had as good of a year this year as last? Thats what I thought....

You have no knowledge.....that is the point. 45 catches in that offense with NO OTHER receiving threat and Joshua "Hughes Thinks I'm an All Pro" Nesbitt throwing him the ball is a fucking miracle.

They completed 78 passes all year. Nobody else caught more than 8 balls.

C'mon man.....your pathetic excuses for not being educated on the subject are laughable.

I was the one thst said he came from the triple option offense idiot....now your piggybacking on what i said to try to prove me wrong? Do you not understand what triple option offense means? By definition alone it means lack of production in the pass offense....which is why 21 teams passed on him and he was labled a project comming out of college. These arent my words....they are the words of every analyst and scout that put together a piece on him. But since you dont watch football. ...you have no clue about any of that. Keep being a Dumbass.

I watched some highlights on Evans the other day. He has some really good traits....but he has some bad ones too. I wouldn't mind him opposite CJ......but not at 10. I think you can get better players at other positions of need at that spot.

The good (that I saw)....

Uses his body really well. Shields off defenders and stretches out his arms to make catches when guys are draped on him.

Good runner after the catch for his size. Great stiff arm. Calvinesque. Little guys just cant get to him if he has a chance to cradle the ball and use his other arm.

Fast for his size. Beat a lot of guys that are probably faster than him because he surprised them.

Catches the ball over his shoulder well.

High points the ball well and does it without pushing off.

The bad (that I saw)....

Catches balls with his body WAY too often.

Looked for as much tape as I could on him. NONE of the highlights that I saw showed him beating his man with a good route. NONE. That's scary to me. He's going to HAVE to do that at the next level.

Too many highlights where Manziel makes the play and he just has to catch the ball.

Not gonna run 9 routes past NFL CB's on a consistent basis. Doesn't have the speed.

Good when a play breaks down, but only seems to want to go deep. Doesn't come back to ball well at all.

Overall, I wouldn't be upset with the pick.......but there seems to be better options available at 10.

Do you think you're the only person on the planet that knows that Georgia Tech ran a triple option offense in 2009??

You're an idiot.

You're trying to prove that 1150 yards is little to no production because they ran a certain type of offense that you don't understand. You just keep making yourself look dumber and dumber. Keep it up Millen.

Funny

45 catches is little production....in any offense. Are you fucking dumb?

1 route ran all year is not much to go on.

120 catches and 15 TDs in 3 years isn't much to go on.

He was labled a project coming out of college whether you like it or not....what the fuck are you trying to argue? I will ask again...are you dumb?

You are an absolute moron if you think 1150 yards and 8 TD in THAT offense is "little to no" production.

You know a person is truly stupid when they can't see it.

Well done, sir!

Do you know what production means? Go look it up....is English your 2nd language? DO you run a 7-11 and have a hard time speaking and communicating to people in America? Keep being an idiot!

1 year being the most productive WR on his team....equates to being not productive at all from an NCAA standpoint. your argument is dumb...

Hughes always proving how big of a scum bag he is. Thomas wasn't a project. Like Tony and many other people have said he was raw. He did produce for being in a triple option with freaking Nesbit throwing to him. Dude was picked before DEZ BRYANT. The 21 teams that passed on him DIDN'T need a WR. 13 out of the 21 players picked before Thomas made the pro bowl. There only 2 skill position players picked in the top 20 that draft. Most picks were made on defense and o-line. Your argument he dropped to 22 because he was a project is fucking retarded.

Was the teams leading receiver (catches, yards and TD's) in BOTH 2008 & 2009.

That's 2 years.

There's this thing called the internet now where you can look up information like this instead of spouting off nonsense and sounding like an idiot. Just FYI.

When I watched the WRs at the combine, Cooks looked like the cleanest most fluid WR out there. A pure natural, better than Watkins IMO. He just looked the part. But at #10? I just can't see it....

Yes sir, he did look the part. I agree.

There is going to be better talent available at #10.

yup, im sure all NFL teams will look at 600 yards and 3 tds and think....damn that guy needs to be on my team. Just totally outplayed everyone. Being picked 22nd was TOTALLY based on his production (600 yards, 3 tds) and had nothing to do with him being 6'3'' and ran a 4.3. Whenever Kmd agrees with you you know your being retarded. grats! ps....start watching football....you might learn something and be able to actually sound intelligent on here. That goes for you too kmd.....you add even less to a discussion than booger does.....which is really sad. I see a job at taco bell in your future.

wow you are dumb....do you watch the drafts or do you just look up shit years later and make up your own stories. He fell to fucking 22 cause he was labled a project with limited fucking production at the college level. How many FUCKING times do I have to say it? Im not making it up. Just cause you call it "raw" doesn't change the fact that every analyst during the draft called it him being a project.

Junior year, 45 catches, 8 touchdowns, 1100 yards, 25 yards a catch all acc first team. Yeah, that's no production alright.
