It's pretty unfortunate for us Tua got hurt. It would be a 100% certainty that he and Burrow would be the first 2 picks.

Not for Washington at 2 but teams sure would have been in discussion to move into their spot . Or our spot at 3 when Washington takes Chase ....you're so right tho , we cant even catch a break in that regard , was gonna work out beautifully for us but nooo lol

Less top talent qbs could also work for us. Sitting at 3 with only Hebert there could have qb needy teams looking to move up.

After watching the Bama game and listening to some reasons why Tua may stay , i'm not convinced he even comes out this year . Hebert was highly regarded as the #1 pick last year had he come out , so maybe if he has a great game today he jumps back into the conversation where Tua was ?? As i say that he throws an interception lol

I think itll depend solely on if he can workout for teams and get a clear medical prior to the draft. He absolutely SHOULD come out this year if hes cleared. Youre looking at a top 5 lock. Next year....youre behind Trevor Lawrence 100% guaranteed. Then you throw in guys like Fields and insert name here. Theres no guarantees where you land next year if youre Tua....especially if you get another injury and get the "injury prone" label (which he already has). Hes announcing his decision on Monday which means hes made up his mind. If hes made up his mind id assume hes made the decision to go to the draft. If the decision was dependant on how his treatment went etc....he'd wait longer to announce.

Tua declared for the draft.

Good new for the Lions. Tua presents a real trade up target, and opens several possibilities.

1) If Washington is set on Young, we are suddenly the team to work with to get Tua.

2) If Washington is open to trading, Young falls into our laps.

3) If the team wants to blow things up and reset, Tua is likely the best QB prospect we'll see without having the first pick in years to come.

Tua imo is not going top 5. Some teams don't need QB's and they have a guy they like and don't want to risk losing with a trade and he had a bad injury.

I think he goes 5 to Miami or 6 to the Chargers. However, if there are good medicals on Tua, someone could trade up to grab him. Without the injury, Tua is the best QB prospect in this draft.

It might have been the heat of the moment, frustrated etc. but I still remember what he said afterwards .. "I don?t think I?d be the same again..."

Unless some really poor news leaks out about his condition in April, I don't see him getting past Miami at #5. Not sure who else has the picks to move up to jump in front of Miami. Jacksonville has the #9 and #20 pick this year.

I think it's important to remember that Tua likely had more information on his injury than anyone else. If he had any reason to suspect he wouldn't be healthy close to the draft (or that his medical checks wouldn't pass), he simply wouldn't have declared. He could have easily run it back with Alabama, and would have been a top 2 pick next year even if he needed more time to recover. I'm sure Tua's doctors are confident he'll be healthy dinner than expected and that his physicals will all check out fine.

And Herbert simply isn't going to have the same grade as Tua going into the draft. Injuries aside, Tua was still considered a better prospect than Burrow (which is saying something). He won't fall past Miami, and anyone else who needs a QB will be asking Washington, Detroit, and New York (in that order) if they are willing to trade. Heck, Miami might be forced to pull something like the Bears in 2017, trading up themselves to ensure no one jumps them.

Miami would be a best case scenario trade down. We wouldn't lose out on the blue chippers, but probably get a second or a couple thirds for the trouble.

Or he knows he's a top ten guy and next year might not be.

Carolina, chargers, miami and Indianapolis.... all 4 have to do something this off season at qb.

The only way he's not a top 10 guy next year is if he's medically flagged (think Hurst in 2018) or suffers a new career ending injury. If it's the former, he won't be a top 10 guy this year either. If it's the latter, well, I don't think anyone could predict that. Tua has been incredible in college for two years now. Alabama is one of the most talented teams in the country every year. His production isn't going to suddenly take a nosedive unless he's hurt (and if he has the kind of injury that would destroy even his college production, NFL teams are going to know about it before they draft him - or not in that case - this year).

Just trade down and get multiple picks. This team needs a lot of help everywhere.

I know dumb and dumber will try to save their jobs both if Tua is worthy why not draft him ourselves. He can heal and sit for a bit. Do what smart teams do draft for the future.

Someone will trade up to take Tua, the problem is that trading up to 4 is just as good as trading up to 3 unless we can convince teams that we'll take Tua if we don't trade out of 3. Giants pick 4th and they have their QB of the future already. Miami wants Tua bad, would be funny if someone traded up to 4th and then Miami traded up to 3rd with us.

I'll bring up the Bears trade again. But 4 is NOT as good as 3 (or 2). Because if some team wants to jump Miami by trading with New York, Miami can just as easily jump that team by trading with Detroit (and blowing up the entire point of that other team trading). If a team trades up for Tua, they are going to trade as high as is required to ensure no other team takes him first.

So the most likely scenario is that we'll first hear about teams engaging interest from Washington. They'll smokescreen it as potentially trying to land Young. If there are multiple teams, Washington will likely stretch it out a little bit, but also likely complete the trade before the draft (see 2016 draft). If that doesn't happen, it likely means Washington is too sold on Young to pass. At that point, teams will start seriously talking trade with the Lions - though nothing would be finalize until the actual time of our pick (contingent on Washington taking Young).

Give me Tua.

Generational talent. We all dreamed about getting this kid. Now we can.

I know we won't, because Quinntricia are playing for this year and saving their job, not for the future.
