With the top 10 pick in the draft...

Who do you take in the top 10?

  • A QB....Jared Goff might be the top qb avail

    Votes: 2 9.1%
  • A LT....our oline blows. Move Reiff to RT. Ronnie Stanley.

    Votes: 14 63.6%
  • DT/DE Robert Nkemdiche. Our dline sucks now that we have no elite talent on it.

    Votes: 6 27.3%
  • A TE. We have needs everywhere....but we wouldnt be the lions if we didnt pick a TE in the top 10.

Maybe we trade Matt straight up for Rogers. We can throw in Mathis for free.

If Rogers came to the Lions, do you honestly think Lombardi would be capable of calling successful plays? I think Rogers would be an absolute bottom feeder as a Lion solely because the anti-Vince is a master at setting up players for failure.

Rodgers could overcome a bad OC.

Treadwell is a beast, but coming off of a terrible injury

The problem isn't Stafford, It's the offensive line. He doesn't have time to look for a receiver & the running game has been nonexistent. The way to build a winning team is to start with the line first. They need an OT.

Blame the OL year after year.. That'll do it. He's not to be fully blamed but damn skippy he makes his fair share of dumb shit throws. Even when the OL gives him time.

The times the offensive line does their job are too far and in between, the guy is running for his life out there. If only the offensive line would let Stafford know in the huddle that they are going to do their jobs on the upcoming play, maybe Stafford would calm down and make a big throw, lol. The offensive line is what is holding this team back this year, maybe (probably)more than Lombardi is

4 years in a row, too late to blame the OL. Do you actually think Matt would be better if the OL was better? OL better last season, Matt same. 2013, OL even better, Matt same. One constant, Matt.

New system, less turnovers last year, Stafford still got sacked a bunch. Never had a good offensive line. 2011 he was mostly in the shotgun, and got the ball out extremely quick because of it, which disguised how weak the oline was.

Put him behind a truly good oline, I absolutely think he'd be much better. Maybe we'll find out one day when he leaves detroit

They did a stat on most hits taken by a QB since 2012. Luck was #1, Brady was #3. Staff wasn't in the top 4 that they showed.

The pressure he faced throughout his career is severely overstated by this fan base.

It's just the new excuse for 2015. Which was suppose to be the year of no excuses. Maybe year 8 we can start giving him blame.

Oh and it is possible to make a positive play while facing pressure...I see in it from every other QB.

It's not like we can just dump Stafford after this year boys. If we had anything close to a starter in the bullpen, it might make sense. We have nothing. So draft one this year, and give him time to develope BEHIND Stafford. You guys act like a rookie qb is the answer and that booting Stafford is the cure. If we cut ties with Stafford, what's saying that his replacement is automatically better than him? What if he's worse than Stafford, or much worse? With the issues this team has, a new qb is not the answer boys, a respectable offensive line might be though.

So what if these new oline bodies are worse than the current ones? Goes both ways.

Bottom line is over the past three years there have been 22 QBs that have thrown more than 1000 passes. Stafford is the worst rated QB out of those 22.

So you aren't going to get much worse. Maybe slightly worse, but you will have 15 million in extra cap room to compensate for that hypothetical decrease in QB play.

What if it's better? Increase in play and 15million to improve the roster. Win win.

What's the risk? We aren't a playoff team those year anyways. What makes you think with Stafford we will be next?

Putting all of our faith in getting someone better than Stafford is a bigger risk than putting all of our faith in building a good offensive line imo. Stafford is more than a serviceable qb, just need a reputable oline. That's where I stand. Get some better blocking, Stafford will shine. The offensive line is not meshing yet, hopefully they get it turned around this year, but I'm doubtful

He's had better blocking in the past, and he still didn't shine. He's a one-year wonder.

There is zero harm in drafting a QB in the draft. Zero. Almost every team seems to take a flyer on 5th, 6th round QBs even if their situation is all set. Why not use a 2nd, 3rd rounder on someone? It's not like our drafts ever pan out anyways.

Hope is the hardest thing to argue against since you need nothing to back it up.

So..ok. I hope we get to see him shine.

I didn't say they shouldn't draft a qb, just don't expect them to eclipsing Stafford anytime soon.

Staffords starting here at least this and next year

Doesn't take it away the fact he still stinks. Many QB's have to play in a new system yet do well. It's the biggest excuse ever. And the dumbest.. He grades poorly. He wouldn't be the first to be a one year wonder.

Another Matt over in Atlanta where people compare him to Stafford has a new coach and system and he's lighting it up.

Get over it, Matt ain't getting better - even with an all pro OL.

Yes this is probably true. Management failed to draft a QB this year. Many on here thought it would be a wasted pick.

Only way Stafford may be gone is if we end with a top 3 pick.

I don't see this as a playoff team the next two years.

I'd take Kyle Shanahan as a HC.
