The Patriots draft this way, in multiples. No more Aging Burleson running screens, no more Durham drops, no more waiting on Broyles to emerge.
Scheme and coaching will improve our DBS faster than the draft IMO. We have what, 5 young guys who run a 4.4 or faster Green and Greenwood run a 4.2...the atleticism is there but their instincts have to improve. But I agree with you Tom, no arguments grabing a cb and a saftey in the draft.
The Pats do it because they usually trade down and have more picks. That is a draft strategy that I like. If you trade down and grab more picks / players there is a better chance that some will pan out. When you only have 6-8 picks it is less likely that you get players that will contribute.
