2014 Draft Thread

That would be his ceiling. He's a different player than those guys. He's a put it in his hands and watch him beat 3 guys to the house. Julio's first year would be a good predictor. We need to win now CJ Bush getting older. Big contracts from restructures. He makes us win now. Hands down best receiver in the draft and since Green.

This is the NFL not baseball. Wether we lose the big 3, Bush or anyone else you draft well you can win.

My mock Draft and i did research and we don't have a 5th round pick, jacksonville has it.

1. Darqueze Denaard, CB, MSU
2. Gabe Jackson, OG, Mississippi State- 320lbs maybe move to center and replace Raiola
3. Jackson Jeffcoat, OLB Texas
4. Brandon Coleman, WR Rutgers
5. no pick Jacksonville
6. Chris Boswell, K, Rice
7. Tyler Larsen, C, Utah State

personally i'd like to see them trade down the 2nd round pick and get more picks

Seeing that Dallas and Baltimore might be a coin flip situation.

5 teams that pick infront of us have desperate qb needs. Were in a position to get a top 5 player at 10 this year. im guessing atleast 3 qbs go top 10 this year.

I heard the draft was in May, 2014. Have to wait about 10 days more now.

k I always told you guys id be the first to fess up when I was wrong about something. for 2 years now ive said johnny football would be nothing in the NFL. Kid is a winner...and he might not turn jax or Cleveland into winners....but he'll give either of those franchises a shot in the arm and it wont be because of him that they don't win. He'll be a top10 pick next year.

1. Darquez Denard
2. A DC that will blitz
3. A #2 WR

"Now you stick with that, everything else is cream cheese".

That is all.

What do you all think of this?

I'm not a draft expert, but since we have the 10th pick, I don't think we'll take Darqueze Dennard unless we trade down. Also, if we replace Raiola, it should be with an experienced center, not a guy who played guard in college. And it shouldn't be until at least the 3rd round, if not later.

So if we take a CB in the 1st, I think there are enough quality WRs for us to take one in the 2nd round. I wouldn't be surprised if we took a linebacker, like you have us taking in the 3rd round. And if we don't bring back Kickalicious, then we should draft a kicker in the 6th or 7th round. Those are my thoughts at this point, 5 months before the draft.

Don't know shit about Dennard but CB's tend to go higher because they are so hard to find, plus if this board has taught me anything its that the guys talked about here during this time of year are the guys that move up the draft board come draft time.

I agree that the guys talked about on this board generally move up the draft board, but multiple CBs don't tend to get drafted much in the top 10. Below is a list of CBs drafted in the top 10 over the last ten years. So unless Dennard separates himself as the top corner in the draft (which I think is doubtful), I don't think we'll be taking him at #10.

2013: Dee Milliner (9)
2012: Morris Claiborne (6), Stephen Gilmore (10)
2011: none
2010: Joe Haden (7)
2009: none
2008: none
2007: none
2006: none
2005: Pacman Jones (6)
2004: DeAngelo Hall (8), Dunta Robinson (10)

You really gotta throw out anything before the CBA, CB's didn't get top 10 back then but now that money isn't as big a factor we've seen 3 in 2 years. Not saying he will be top 10 just that CB's tend to move up the board.
