2016 Draft- Who ya got?

Decker is a beast and he'll probably be there

Calhoun might even be there when the 2nd pick comes around, but I love the way he gets after the QB.

Won't have a shot at Conklin or Treadwell IMO

All depends on the combine now. Going to see some drops and rises coming up. Like your list though....
I would be stoked if Decker is still there and we got him. Your right, he is a beast.

Decker and Conklin will fight it out to see who goes off the board after Stanley. All 3 would upgrade our oline. If we go oline or dline ill be happy. Treadwell if he drops...which I doubt. Or potentially a corner I could get on board with.

Watching the senior bowl today and there is about ten DTs with first round grades. I haven't seen one in the Aarond Donald caliber of players though. I think if you want to go with a Pats style draft you either trade back if you can or grab DTs in rounds 2 and 3. The guy you get in the 2nd will have a first round grade.

While I don't think there is an Aaron Donald, I think DeForest Buckner can be a better version of Calais Campbell. I think he'll be a game wrecker at the next level. He destroyed Joshua Garnett from Stanford, who was probably the best guard at the college level last season. He's the best DL in the draft IMO. Unfortunately, he'll likely go Top 5 so we don't have a shot. I'd rather go OL in the first round because of the depth at DT like many of you have mentioned. Hopefully Conklin is still on the board or we can trade up a few spots without sacrificing much to get him.

I can see the Calais Campbell comparison, huge size on Buckner. A Dion Jordan comparison might scare me a bit though. Different player than Jordan though, more power. Still the guy looks raw on film, but we have a staff that turned another raw talent into a pro bowler in Ansah, so I could absolutely get behind the pick. Off the edge Shaq Lawson is my guy, his floor is a big sack a game, his ceiling is eating a tackles lunch so bad he needs a double. With Ziggy on the other side that isn't going to work out so well.

Sheldon Rankins out of Louisville is getting those Donald comparisons right now. Dude is explosive off the ball and has moves to boot. Was murdering it at the Senior Bowl before being injured. This kid could blow up at the combine if healthy.

Because he is short. That is where the comparison ends.

Your proving my point. Some blogger from Bleacher Report compares him to Aaron Donald because they are both undersized DTs. Watch the video that comes with your link short straw. I doubt you'll come away impressed.

Here is the link for those that are interested. Aaron Donald, oops, Sheldon Rankin vs Texas AM.

I watched all of the Senior Bowl practices and the crew there, Mike Mayock, Daniel Jeremiah, Andrew Siciliano and Charles Davis were all in agreement that this kid was "comparable" to Donald. Said he was going to blow up at the combine if healthy and was a kid most definitely to watch.

I watched them too and the game where the guy stood on the sideline. The talent at the senior bowl was putrid this year. As for Rankins NSonnett's link has him ranked 46th, 36th, and 125th. He'll be lucky to crack the first round.

Stood on the sideline because he was hurt, gomer lol. I don't give a shit where he's ranked either. Crack the 1st round? Ummm..ok....and? I'm not calling the guy the "next Aaron Donald". All i'm saying is that the comparisons are there. Putrid talent at the Senior Bowl or not. And if this kid is there in the 2nd rd then i would love it if the Lions jumped all over him. Remember, a ton of teams didn't think Donald was a 1st rd talent either.....

Quote i guess ya missed from the same article , hhmm how convenient lol

"If you liked Aaron Donald, odds are you'll like Rankins. He is an athletic, productive, disruptive -- and isn't disruption really production? -- high motor, front seven player. He doesn't have ideal measurables, but that also doesn't really matter much."

Do you know what Bleacher Report is? You are quoting a blog. He is a second or third round prospect.

The comparisons are there because they are both undersized DTackles. I swear it's like pulling teeth with you mental midgets.

No , its just you are a simpleton who can only view the comparison based on the guys size . Nice way to determine talent champ
