2021 Free Agency and Cap Cuts

Anyone on this team that had a cutable contract, should be gone! The goal should have been 11 new offensive starters and 11 on defense.

So you feel nobody can be a good player on a bad team. Would you have cut Calvin after 2008?

Like you going to Frank Ragnows face and telling him he sucks?

If they were decent, trade em. Get them outta town!

Interesting that they made that contract move with Goff to free up all that cap space this year but they havent used it. Its a decent chunk of space. Id expect to see either:
1) mid level signings at CB and S for depth and slot CB reps
2) Higher priced starting RT signing. Fisher, Villanueva, Wagner

Are there still players available? I also expected a bigger signing.

Lions will sign Corn Elder

From what I can tell he was decent back of the roster depth and solid special teamer. Think he and Mike Ford will be competing for that 4/5 CB role. Has a lot of respect from Jalen Ramsay.

Former #Panthers and #Giants DB Corn Elder is visiting the #Lions this morning, source said, as Detroit continues to look for defensive backfield depth.

Also Quinton Dunbar is expected to visit

Free agent CB Quinton Dunbar set to visit the Lions

CB QUINTON DUNBAR
While players like Troy Hill and Mike Hilton have limitations in what they can do at the cornerback position, Quinton Dunbar has legitimate No. 1 corner upside. Yet, he has a very small sample size of playing at that level, with significantly more up-and-down play and a lot of missed time.

That year, Dunbar allowed just a 56.9 passer rating into his coverage, picking off four passes and notching four pass breakups on his way to an 89.5 PFF coverage grade.

He dealt with legal issues and then injuries this season, his first in Seattle, and wound up with the worst PFF grade of his career by some distance despite a scheme that should have been an ideal fit for his skill set. Dunbar will still be only 29 years old by the time next season rolls around, and he would represent a classic case of buying low on a player with significantly more upside than might be obvious.

Corn Elder..26 year old, chance to be the nickel..or very good nickel depth if we draft a cb.

Did well with Carolina last year and can play special teams

Lions signed CB Corn Elder, formerly of the Panthers, to a one-year contract.
The Panthers' primary slot corner for the first two thirds of 2020, Elder was phased out down the stretch. On the whole, the 2017 fifth-rounder was decent in the first extended action of his career. He makes a lot of sense as a one-year flier for a rebuilding team.

Good singing. Never heard of him or seen him play. But with a name like that he must wake up pissed off every day of his life.

If packers had randall cobb, we would have corn on the cobb

If he isnt targeted, qbs will be respecting their elders

Maybe they wait until after June 1 for a bigger signing...isn't that the cutoff for the supplemental pick formula?
