Stafford has had the least run game of any team in the last 10 years and the least turnovers forced by a defense. Fact.
Because he throws so much against a 6 man box. Fact.

yes, I remember. I just don't think Goff is very good. I think Matt is a little better. We shall see.
A defense gives you more opportunities to complete passes with better field position (especially a defense that forces almost or more than 30 turnovers). Those make it easier to have passing TDs which significantly raise your QB rating.
In Staffords case, he had to go like 80 yards way more than he should and really pass for most of that yardage because the run game wasn't giving him much extra first downs or yardage compared to other QBs/teams. No Derrick Henrys or Dalvin Cook constantly moving the chains. No Aaron Jones with over 5 YPC all season. This is exactly why he wanted out at the regime change. Years upon years of having to do it all himself. The best he could get was a poor mans Kamara with Swift or Riddick catching the ball.
Stafford has had the least run game of any team in the last 10 years and the least turnovers forced by a defense. Fact. It was a bad combo and Lions tried but couldn't fix it for various reasons. Injuries, players getting too old (Tate and Burleson), bad schemes (Joe Lombardi 2014-2015, Cooter 2018, Princes blocking schemes), expiring contracts etc
2011, healthy weapons with like 4 options plus Calvin really surprising people, good protection, 27 turnovers from the defense. 41 TDs
Now but what did you think about Matt after 2014?
I thought that he was a middle of the pack QB.
And Goff is not middle of the pack? Matt was 82.8 during that stretch. The one thing I heard a lot was he was still young. Oh and the terrible defense yet total point given up we were middle of the pack in '13 and 3 in '14.
I'm just telling you my opinion. Matt is above average. We have years of data on him. I give him a little break for playing on such a shitty team, but not a lot. Goff only has 4 years of data. His teams were very good and I don't think he was asked to do too much early. As McVeigh worked with him, I think more was asked, and he got worse.
Goff may well be better than Matt. I just don't think he is. Like I said, time will tell.
Not trying to get you to abandon your opinion (I still think Matt is outside top ten now) and time tells a lot. Though I have to wonder how when Matt was 26 he was middle of the pack but Goff at 26 is terrible.
DeSean Hamilton about to be cut by broncos unless they find a trade offer. He might be a 1 here lol... sadly enough.

Report: Detroit Lions considering trade options with Tyrell Crosby

Seems dumb to trade him but if he can be a starter for someone else you could get a decent pick for him. Last year of contract so probably not paying him long term. Depth is going to stink again though
He would be number 5 here
833 yards amd 5 tds in 3 seasons
And he is built like devonta smith
Tyrell breshad st brown and cephus all clearly better
Dude...hes 206 lbs and 6'1''. He has more talent than tyrell williams and perriman....im telling you guys lol. Hes just stuck behind Jeudy, Hamler, Patrick and Sutton in Denver.
LKP you of all people should remember him tearing up the Lions
Dude is skinny. I'm a Penn State and he is talented just hasn't translated.
I'm not opposed to adding him but he wouldn't be our number 1 WR at all or even close. Doubt he would accept a 2 year prove it deal either.
