2023 NFL Draft

It's odd that people ignore the facts with Goff. The guy is top 8 in basically every legit passing ranking. Yards, tds, yards per attempt, downfield plays over 40 yards, etc. Just because he's underthrown 2 balls to Williams(1 still was a td) people wanna call him a game manager??? That's just a horrible take that isn't backed up by any facts this year. Can he throw it 70 yards? No. But who the hell needs to in today's nfl?

This isn?t fantasy football my guy, it?s the NFL. Typically when you have a D giving up 30+ every week, you?ll have a QB with good ?stats?. Goff isn?t going to go out and win us games, he might manage a game but he sure the hell isn?t going to win it. He misses the big throws when needed the most. Remember Thanksgiving when he had Chark open on the 3rd and 1? He missed an easy throw that ultimately led to Allen getting the ball and we all know the rest.

Goff is a mediocre QB making $30mil. I?d take a rookie or a $50mil star who can go out, put his team in his back and win games.

Do you watch any other games? EVERY qb misses throws every week. This is the worst take I've seen in this forum. You literally can't back up what you're saying with any facts other than 1 missed throw.

Our passing game has been the only constant plus for us this year. Fact

Calling him a game manager is just a trash take. We have no run game and a horrible defense and are still battling for a playoff spot because our qb is playing at an elite level. Like it or not, that's the truth.

watch Lamar Jackson...he almost always misses big throws.

Does the road stats below look elite to you? Are you going to be confident in a win or go home at Lambo that Goff can play at an elite level, put this team on his back and beat Rodgers? An elite level QB should have you confident to win those games.

Vikings: 27th (25-of-41, 277 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 79.0 passer rating)
Patriots: 3rd (19-of-35, 229 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 62.7 passer rating)
Cowboys: 4th (21-of-26, 228 yards, 0 TD, 2 INTs, 71.2 passer rating)
Bears: 30th (19-of-26, 236 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 113.6 passer rating)
Giants: 24th (17-of-26, 165 yards, 0 TD, 0 INTs, 83.0 passer rating)
Jets: 6th (23-of-38, 252 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 88.9 passer rating)

This isn't 2019 anymore. Lamar Jackson is not some super stud, he's a good QB but he's no savior. Running aside, the money he's going to get, draft capital and with so many pieces we still need no thanks.

Goff had been a surprise, pleasantly so .. I would prefer we draft a QB, but I'll take Goff over Jackson.

Would you feel more confident as a Lions fan going into next season w Goff or Lamar as the starting QB?

If all things are equal, I would probably pick Lamar.

Now, if you consider the hypothetical that you would have to pay him $200M, and give up 2 first round picks, add to that his injury history, I would choose Goff.

That?s fair! I personally feel Lamar would make us a real contender in the not so tough NFC. We would still have cap space, a 1st rounder and (2) 2nd rounders. It wouldn?t be getting Lamar and we can?t do anything else.

It?s all a pipe dream to me anyway. Baltimore isn?t trading Lamar.

Man you're kinda proving my point with this post. 5 of 7 road games he played really well. Especially the last 4. The 2 bad games were also against top 5 defense when we had all of our skilled position guys out or playing hurt. 3-4 road record with the worst defense in the NFL. Not too shabby

You also have to spend on a quality backup because it's 100% certain he will be starting at some point if Lamar is your qb. He hasn't started a full season in his career.

He had one good road game and that was against Chicago. All others, he played mediocre to trash.

If he gets us in a win get in position heading into Lambo, and leaves w a W, I?ll change my tune.

You should always invest in a quality backup, no matter who your QB is.

Currently picking around 7 and 16 thanks to Russell im shit Wilson.

7 Bryan Bresee DT
16 Cam Smith CB
2a Dalton Kincaid TE
2b Jack Campbell LB
3 Cam Rising QB

If Baltimore doesn't resign Roquan Smith, who's up for backing up the Brinks truck to sign him?

We already invested a lot of draft capital on the D Line the pst 2years. Sure you want to invest a top 10 pick?

I?ll pass on the TE position in the 2nd. We haven?t missed a beat since trading Hockinson.

It's more a product of who's left on the board at 7. You'll be lookin at the 3rd qb, 1st cb in a class where none of then really stand out, DE or OT. In my assessment of our team...McNeil or buggs should be playing NT and we need a rush DT next to them. That's what Breese could be.

Whether we have spent a lot of draft capital on the d-line or not......we need better players up front. We can't just avoid the glaring need because we tried a couple years ago. THAT would be idiotic. I watched the Panthers game again.....they doubled McNeil nearly every play.....Hutch didn't make his read quick enough and took himself out of a lot of run plays right at him.....Buggs didn't do shit....Okwara didn't do shit.....they don't need to be doubled so there were a LOT of guards just running directly to the 2nd level and killing our terrible LB's......who were also out of position a LOT. Was some of that schematic......absolutely.....but we had 4 different 20 yard runs where NOT ONE of the front 6 or 7 defenders got off his block fast enough to be in the play. That's awful. That includes Hutchinson. (Not saying Hutch is bad, but he had a bad game)

YES, we need more talent in the front 7. And the back 5.

Really, any defender we choose will help. DT, DE, LB, CB, S......you name it, we need it.

And as much as I love Swift, he now runs like he's scared to get hurt. Wants to bounce everything outside, avoids fighting for extra yards. When he does get it space, instead of attacking the next defender to put him in a bad position or set him up for a juke.....it seems he's looking for where the easiest place to get down is. We need a RB1 upgrade, as well.

I hear Levi should be back soon, that should be a really big upgrade.

Yes, that's sarcasm.
