No doubt he could be a good player and better than Pettigrew but why sign Pettigrew then? Didn't they know Ebron would be there a few weeks ago?

Plus, comparisons don't mean a whole lot.

Already have Pettigrew, Fauria and Williams on the roster. Why go after a kid that has suspect hands to begin with? You dolts bitch and moan about our guys that can't catch, but you're on board with a guy whose one negative is his hands? It's fn magical some of the shit on this board..lol. Why can't we see what Fauria can do before we annoint this Ebron kid the next Jimmy Graham? Which he's not even close btw...

Reaching and frusturated over what?? I told you everything you need to know about the kid. He has suspect hands and has way too many mental lapses. Isn't that what we're trying to avoid on this team? I'm not saying the kid couldn't be good and he's a lost cause, but at 10, it's a waste of a pick IMO.
And nowhere did I compare Fauria to Graham. I simply stated the Lions have a young TE who wants to be better and he showed that last year in his limited snaps. Fauria could be a beast in this offense. He has the size and the hands.
Oh, and don't wonder about me because I'm all good, bro. I call it like I see it. The draft class is weak this year and Ebron is overrated in my eyes. Drafting him at #10 would be a gigantic reach...

Sorry that I don't like the kid. His hands are not that good and that's a good enough answer for anyone.

I don't get the Aaron Donald love. Yes, he won the gamut of defensive awards, the Outland, Nagurski, Bednarik, and Lombardi. Yes, he was a force his senior year.

But for whatever reason, the scouts had him ranked as a 2nd round pick, potentially a third, until his Combine workout. Then he's a top 10 pick because his workout was off the charts.

4 years of tape says 2nd or 3rd round... a single workout says top 10?

Every single time I have seen someone jump off the charts like that after the Combine, he busts. But I have never seen a kid win the 4 major awards and be the force Donald was in college, and be ranked as a 2nd or 3rd round pick either.

I don't know what to think of this kid. Did the scouts just miss the boat until he forced their eyes open with a crowbar? Or are they putting too much into a workout?

I'm nervous about him, because I just don't have that answer.

I think because he is undersized for an NFL DT (6'0" 288) his initial projection was 2nd or 3rd round even though the game tape says otherwise. Then, when his measurables at the combine supported his actual on field performance, his stock jumped. It may be an unpopular opinion but if he is as good as advertised I say take him at 10 & let Suh walk.
 
Anyone have a mock of lkp being played by Andy Dick??? that is my mock. Granted it is probably a little outdated, so Snook or Kim or an equally annoying blowhard will suffice.

I'm good with that provided he is mentally better than suh. Not that he could be much worse, just don't want another mental midget replacing the existing one, even though the money is obviously advantageous
 
liked that pick prior to resigning Pettigrew. Now its a choice of either upgrading or TE or upgrading at CB and I think corner is more pertinent need to upgrade. Ebron would be a monster in this offense though...cant deny that. I think Barr is going to slide to below pick 15 maybe quite a bit further.*

Above is what i wrote in regards to actually picking ebron. The rest was debating why he could be the pick. Hes probably the 2nd best offensive weapon in the draft. I see evans as a jump ball only guy in the nfl.

Agreed. No telling what their feeling is on fairley or suh....but if theres any doubt in regards to either of them being here past this year....they should consider donald seriously.

I have no idea on the Mayhew draft needs but I'm getting tired of rumor after rumor of weapons for our stupid QB. I won't feel better losing games 35-32. We need defense and lots of it.

We only gave up 30 in losses twice last year. And the offense didn't play very well in three quarters against Pittsburgh and the Eagles in those losses. Missing number 2 and number 3 Wr against Pittsburgh and Waddle/Bush (run game against Eagles) We were missing Jones/Ansah/Bentley/Quin in the Pittsburgh loss and couldn't play run defense to save their lives in the snow despite missing just Jones.

Nothing is an immediate need other than a WR if Calvin goes down, backup center and backup QB.
