Best Likely to Land on PUP List

If only Delmas could fk'n stay healthy. Willie Young might turn out to be his best pick.

Heard he beat Bellichek and Ozzie to Titus as well, although you could see Detroit loved him, so if those other teams wanted him they could've jumped Detroit.

I loved what i saw from Young last week. He put on more size and can still motor. I bashed guys on this board when they said Young could replace Avril...lol. Too early to tell, but that kid can ball. I want to see him do it fulltime then i'll eat crow..lol.

Yeah you did, lol. Maybe not replace but good enough where they can save some cash down the line if Avril leaves.

That ain't too bad.....I was defending Aaron Berry as a solid starter going forward a few months ago...

If Avril has another year like last year, he's probably gone. Don't think they'll tag him again, and someone on the open market will pay him what he wants, or at least more than Mayhew.

In your defense, Berry wasn't that bad. He was still raw but had some upside. Plus, he was a starter until his stupidity took over.

Sad thing about Berry is that he is known for those 2 dropped INT's and his ridiculous comments towards Detroiters afterwards in the Saints playoff game. He's not a bad football player but he's a dumbass.

You speak the truth, but I've eaten the crow nonetheless.....

Willie Young just upped the ante on Avril with that blocked punt. That was a work of ART!!! How often do you see guys not take the proper angle and either whiff on the block or get flagged for roughing the kicker? When was the last time Avril blocked a punt or kick?

Sorry Tony, gonna need an extra helping of hot sauce tonight! LOL It's all good though, I'm thinking it would be best if both Young and Avril had great seasons. Avril would likely leave and get paid (even better if Lions can get a pick or two in the draft for him), Young would step in to fill his spot, and Lions likely draft a DE to play behind Young. The key with that is it will save millions in cap with minimal drop off in play at DE but improved play elsewhere (RB, OL, DB) to more than compensate. That's my hope anyway.

Lol...not yet. Young didn't show me much tonight. He made a great play on ST's but that's really it. I stll have hopes for the kid, but for him to replace Avril at this point is assinine to say the least.

Trust me, i would love to eat crow on this, but it's not happening right now.

If Stafford is attempting 47 passes a game he won't make it past week 8 before he gets hurt.

how many times has best ever ran the ball more than 20 times in a game? what does best being injured have to do with stafford throwing a ton?....none.

If the QB is going to drop back to pass every time the D can pin their ears back and attack. Also, the more times he passes the more hits he is going to take. It's common sense.

Oline needs to maintain at least what they did last year in pass blocking. They did a solid job for 663 attempts. If Oline gets better, Lions offense will be better, if the Oline regresses in pass protection they better run the ball more and be somewhat effective running the ball or the Lions are in trouble.

If the OL only ever has to practice pass blocking, they get really good at it. They aren't a run blocking OL as it is. Plus, 5-10 more passes / less runs per game is a minor difference at this point. Actually it might make the running game even better per attempt as it will be an even bigger surprise when it happens. Kinda the reverse of a triple option college team when they drop back to throw. Won't always be successful, but the shock value is high regardless and that means opportunity if executed well.

You make it sound like he's throwing 47 60 yard bombs. D can't do shit on a 5 yard slant or a 2-second button hook.
